Step-by-step photographs and text teach watercolorists forty different watercolor techniques, and offer tips on choosing materials, viewing a potential subject, and applying techniques appropriately
The book lists all the standard techniques used in watercolor paintings but unlike most other books, offers more details on detailing complex entities such as water and mists. however, the techniques are framed for pros and people with good experience in watercolors.
The book covers a lot of techniques, and that is good. There are many exemplars that are very good, but unfortunately many that are not. Teh second half of the book discusses putting the techniques discussed in the first half to use and that was interesting.
I was looking at getting into some more mixed media in my crafting and came across this book at my library and took it out. A great read on basics techniques and a few more advanced ones. I enjoyed this book and tried out some of what I learned with pretty good success. I gave this book 3.5 out of 5 stars!
This book is a must-have for watercolourists. It helps us to find the technical skill/technique to turn the vision in our heads into reality on paper. I really like this book. Highly useful.
