I used this book when I was in Rae Newton's graduate methods course (502B at CSU Fullerton). As a complete novice to statistics (at the time) I found this book was very well written. It was like taking Dr Newton home with me when he was not available for an office visit.
However, the book was even more useful upon after graduating and while working as an analyst for a research company. I used this book on a daily basis. Newton emphasis the need to know information and wastes no time on the abstract. Statistics are simple, when well understood, and Newton and his coauthor make statistics easily understood.
