When I came across this book, I was interested in it primarily due to its connection to "Ball Four." I was pleasantly surprised to read that it is/was so much more than that. Bouton and Marshall tell their stories with frank honesty and leave their emotions out for the reader. Theirs is the tale of not only baseball wives and the success and failures of their relationships but it is also a microcosm of the changing roles of women during the 1960s through the 1980s. I would love to read an update
