An excellent and accessible approach to feng shui. I've read numerous books and blogs on the subject, but after reading Whitehurst's The Art of Bliss, I really feel like I understand it. She offers easy suggestions to improve the flow of your home--and your life--all in a conversational and enjoyable voice. Highly recommend!

This book changed my life. I know sometimes people say things like that but in my case, it happens to be true.
I had always had an interest in feng shui but never really thought much more about it, until I read The Art of Bliss. I began applying feng shui principles throughout my home immediately, according to each section of the bagua.
The author really goes into deep levels and meanings on each alchemical essence of each bagua section. She gives you tips on how to decorate each section according to what occurs in each life key.
For example, say you're having trouble with choosing a career path, the life path key, when fully enhanced, can make everything crystal clear for you. This key would be decorated with colors like black and blue, colors of the ocean, which are fully immersed by the life path and career key.
Each bagua section gives you a color scheme to use, the types of patterns or pictures you should put on your walls, the types of plants that should go there, and what style of gemstone will enhance this area of your life.
The author also goes into detail about which God or Goddess you should call upon for which area, in order to invite romance or riches or a fulfilling family life into your space. I frequently re-read this book when I find a key in my life that is out of balance.
The best part of this book is that it actually works! Anytime I payed extra attention to an area of the bagua, then doors would open, opportunities would come forth, or I'd come into some money. There are no limits to what feng shui and this book can do for your life!

There was not a lot of new information, at least for me, in The Art of Bliss. What there was instead was lots of affirmations and confirmation that I'm thinking in a way that is conducive for my growth. In fact, while reading, everything seemed very familiar. I recommend The Art of Bliss to anyone who is looking to reconnect (or connect) to their Purpose.
