Every word in this book is motivating.

I remembered a verse he used in the book.

"Treat ideas like a new born babies.
Treat them tenderly...
they can get killed pretty quickly.
Treat them gently....
they can be bruised in infancy.
Treat them respectfully.....
they could be the most valuable thing that ever came into your life.
Treat them protectively.....
Don't let them get away.
Treat them protectively.....
Feed them, and feed hem well.

Here's one of the many verses in the book that have impelled me to keep going and treasure in my mind-

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.

Re read it after 20 years and still so relevant. More than anything it was a reminder that there is a place for values such as belief and kindness which is never out of fashion.

Many of relatives read and kept copies of this book for themselves, and even more of them recommended me to read it. Despite that, I actually got my copy as a gift from a good friend couple of years back and read it completely only last year. I'm not much into inspirational and self-development literature, but surprisingly, I found this one to be a pretty good read; and I guess this book would make a fitting inspirational companion for Christians of all sects and denominations.

This book was suggested by one of my friend when I was really going through my hard time. I was shifting to Delhi and was in doubt whether the risk taken by me is worthwhile or not. I completed this book while travelling from Mumbai to Delhi and since then this book has motivated me to take risk in my life and to believe in my dreams. Truly "Tough time never last but tough people do". ...more

If you are totally down with your life, go read it! It will change your perception. 80% of the book is worth reading, it will clear a lot of mindsets. However where I got a little let down was with the religious phases, may be it wasn't truly necessary but then it was author's perception and I am totally fine with it. The book in itself carries forward the essence of failures in a tell tale situational way, to not give up, never give up come what may! A bundle of wise sayings are scattered aroun ...more

"What gives some person the power to fight on after the loss of a precious loved one, after experiencing torturing physical pain day after day? There is no substitute for deep abiding faith. If we hold on, we will win out! Unquestionably the profound faith and the beautiful providence of God produce a strong and unquenchable optimistic mental attitude."

Book Number 60.

Tough Times Never Last, But tough People Do.
- Robert H. Schuller

This book was with me from past 1 year but I had not read this beyond 20-30 pages.

Today I picked It and finished in one Go. This book is a Gem for the survivors. The ones who are currently facing the most difficult phase their life should definitely pick this book up.

For describing this book I would type some of the lines from the book that I is worth sharing.

"To really succeed in life, all you have to do is 1.
Christopher Lewis Kozoriz
"The me I see is the me I will be." (Robert Schuller, Tough Times Never Last but Tough People Do, Disc 6.)

"Tough times don't last but tough people do" was a word that Robert Schuller says in this audio program that God spoke to him at a difficult time in his life.

Weaved throughout this audio program are personal stories, as well as other stories that Robert Schuller has collected of people who were tough in tough times and were brought through to victory.
