Strategic Reading Level 3 is a reading skills book that contains twelve thematic units, each with three high interest authentic readings. The readings are unsimplified and are appropriate for students at the low-advanced to advanced level. Exercise material surrounding the readings builds students' vocabulary and develops their reading and critical thinking skills.
Jack Croft Richards is an applied linguist from New Zealand, specializing in second and foreign language education, teacher training, and materials design. He has written numerous articles and books. Most of his books and articles are in the field of second language teaching and have been translated into many different languages. He was appointed full professor in the Department of English as a Second Language at the University of Hawaii in 1981.
I found this book a really hard one for beginners. It has a lot of new words. Topics on the book are not interesting enough to motivate you to continue reading.
