About the author

Robert Elmer is the author of more than fifty books, including contemporary novels for the adult Christian audience, nonfiction devotionals like Piercing Heaven and Fount of Heaven (Lexham Press), and seven series for younger readers. Among kids, he is best known for his historicals such as the Young Underground, Adventures Down Under, Life Behind the Wall, and Promise of Zion books. When he's not at the keyboard, he enjoys beachcombing and travel with his wife, and spending time with their three kids and families.

Amusing. Occasional reference to what Jesus would think, but not an integral part of the story. Explanations in the text like "By the way, please pronounce my name___" or with inserted question and answer like "How does this Heads-up whatchmacallit work?" Answer stays in character's voice, but you are conscious of the narrator-reader interaction rather than experiencing the story.

this book was good. Really wish I had finished this series when I first got it but I'm glad I'm doing it now. I hope that my future kids will love these books.
