Jin Kobayashi 小林尽 is a mangaka. His most famous work so far is School Rumble,
He began drawing manga seriously during his college years, and won the Weekly Shonen Magazine's Rookie Award in 2001.

Meat.

This image made me giggle in a way and for long enough that I actually became light headed. Unfortunately this was were the laughs both started and ended with this volume.

This volume is entirely composed of the Sports Festival, and on-brand unrealistic hijinks ensue. Even though this was not funny, it was still decently entertaining and a nice dose of School Rumble-ness that we all could use every once in a while.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this in my reviews yet, so I’ll just say it here: I love the way this series was translated and printed in English, and here are my two reasons:

1. There are always like six pages of translation notes at the back of every single volume—which is A LOT—which I love reading along with the story since they give insight into the way the manga was originally written. This makes me feel like I’m getting more of the authentic reading experience that the author intended.

2. After the TNs there are always a few preview pages of the next volume in their original Japanese form!!! This is great for learning Japanese because you have the Japanese text in one volume that you can practice reading, and then the English translation in the next volume which you can use to check your accuracy. Love it.

Y se dio el festival y los del 2C son unos aparatos pero los adoro.
Aunque los protas del D me gustan también, aunque se la pasen compitiendo contra sus paralelos del C. Me reí en varias partes, pero creo recordar divertirme mucho más con esto en el anime.

I tentatively give this volume 4 stars, as I feel it's more 3,5 stars. I've become quite attached to some characters and some ships have been popping into my mind, like Hige x Oujo. Still I feel the manga has some issues that most manga, esp from this time period have. Like standard gender roles, inmigration representation, sexism, only heteronormativity, etc.

At first, it wasn't really that interesting enough for me even though this volume's mainly about the sports festival. But once you get to the last part, oh my god mixed emotions. I was completely touched then laughing so hard then went aww once again and OH MY GOD ERI!! Totally shipping Harima and Eri >3<
