If you're truly, deeply, completely afraid that the Zombie Apocalypse is imminent, well, you probably need to stagger your medication a little better. But if you're a fan of doomsday survival mixed with a seriously deep and solid mystery and sprinkled with an epic love story, this is the series for you. It's non-stop action, non-stop scary and punch-you-in-the-face violent. It's political intrigue, stupidly heroic, snort your coffee on the screen and laugh out loud funny. It's heartbreaking and ...more

In all honesty, the Newsflesh Trilogy is one of the strangest trilogies I have ever read. Why is that? Well, I was expecting non-stop zombie action. Instead, the book seemed to focus more upon the politics and conspiracies of the world. Don’t get me wrong, it was entertaining – it just wasn’t what I was expecting.

So, as a forewarning: if you’re looking for zombie fighting this is not the book for you.

I now own this boxed set and it holds the dubious honor of being the last purchase I will ever make in a brick and mortar store. Since I'm currently working at a job that restricts the use of all electronic devices. I was required, if I chose to read this at work, to buy the physical copy. Dead trees be damned, it's a policy... I must obey or I would have to wait until I was out of the building to keep reading. The price of the books online were ~$18. The price of the books in store.. the very s ...more

The only reason i`ve ranked the trilogy a 4 star and the books themselves a 5-star,it`s because if you read them separately, they will blow your mind.they are vivid, sharp and smarter then you`d think a zombie can be.But as a whole,less-then-a-week read-fest of all three, they got really repetitive.Too much coke, too much "bit into my fingers" ,too much pop-culture.Dont get me wrong,i love witty caracters."I am " a witty caracter. But good god,the world is ending over and over again.Nobody has the ex ...more

I enjoyed this series quite a bit. The story was interesting and kept me reading and wanting to know what happens next. My only complaint was the editing. I am not a huge grammar person, I don't notice a lot of issues, but these books had blatant issues. I had to reread several sentences to make it make sense.

Compelling; a gut-wrenching political thriller with zombies.

You will see my full review updated to my blog (whenever I get the darned thing working) shortly. But this was definitely a 5 star zombie book in my mind.

Love, love, LOVE these books!!! Great detail with the characters, the zombie uprising, the virus, the rebuilt society and the reporters who have an unhealthy obsession with finding the truth. :)
