This is the first book that I read on the Kabbalah and provided an excellent foundation point for the reading of more serious scholars on the subject notably Gershom Scholem.

The Complete Idiot's Guide series consistently finds the right level of knowledge for individuals like myself who are curious about different religions from the ones we practice. I am Roman Catholic and have found that the Idiot series provided good foundation for later readings in the areas of Buddhism, Judaism, Talmudic Study, Mormonism and Islam. I have of course not read the complete idiot's guide to Catholicism and so I can not say if it is as good as the others.

The author warns that this subject is difficult to master solely by reading about it. Indeed, the book left me with many questions and wanting to explore different avenues of instruction. That said, it was an easy-to-read introduction.

Tried a couple of incantations in an attempt to conjure Madonna into my lounge. Failed.

Clearly, as I am an idiot, this book is either a failure or misleading advertising.

A really good introduction to the wisdom of Kabbalah. Don't let the title fool you, it is definitely enough to begin your journey to the Upper World.
