Chris Almeida (also known as C. Almeida) began writing children’s stories at a very young age. Born in Brazil but currently living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Chris’ life took a totally different course when technology came into play, and the following 17 years were spent delving deep into the world of programming and web design.
It was in 2010, when Chris began role playing online as a hobby, that writing wormed its way back into the picture. This time, writing storylines for the role playing group.
The ideas and plots created for the game awoke the inner writer and a few months later, together with partner in crime C. Aubrey, began writing erotic romance.
Now, still together, they have written a number of short stories and novel. They are currently working on book three of their series as well as several short stories. Through it all they have continued to enjoy role playing through their favorite characters.

Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey’s little short story, CUFFED AT MIDNIGHT is a quick look at how Trevor and Cassandra are doing now that they are married and living in Dublin. It’s Trevor’s birthday and Cassandra wants to give him the perfect birthday present. Outside the box thinking...

Who would have thought that Cassandra James... apologies, Cassandra Bauer has a naughty streak? But with a little, unintended help from her best friend Jessica (or not that unintended) and her service handcuffs, the result is a birthday present whereby the Geekster has no idea just what hit him, or cuffed in this situation.

This delightful short story is a quick read that will leave you with a smile. Highly recommended!

Holy Hot birthday presents! Cuffed at Midnight is a companion novella to the Countermeasure series by the fabulous writing duo of Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey. For anyone that has ever read a book and just wondered what happens next these companion novellas are the perfect solution. I am loving the Bytes of Life companion books.

This book is narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds. I thoroughly enjoy Tim's narration of Trevor. He does an equally good job with Cassie. And kudos to him for reading these hot and spicy scenes so well. There are times that I can read a good sex scene, but listening to it is uncomfortable. Not in this case at all. So good!

In Cuffed at Midnight Cassandra is at a loss for what to get Trevor for his birthday. This is his first birthday with them as a couple and she wants to make it special and memorable. And boy does she. Expect edible body oils, cuffs, and lots of down and dirty sex. Trevor's reaction to his gift was hugely intoxicating. I swear my ears were sweaty by the time I was done listening to this story.

Cuffed at Midnight, the short following Countermeasure was a very enjoyable read. Seeing a happy, relaxed side of Trevor and Cassandra as they moved forward and started their new life together in Dublin was great. I was not expecting the "present" that Cassandra gave Trevor for his birthday and her execution of her gift was amazing!

Stars: Overall 5 Narration 5 Story 5

I adore these vignettes that focus on the quiet moments of life for Cassie and Trevor, and Cuffed at Midnight is one that starts with a simple moment of panic in their lives together: Trevor’s birthday and just what to give him for a present.

Almeida and Aubrey have created the couple that you want to know, or want to be: their humor, their obvious affection for one another, and one of the most interesting gifting scenes that I have ever encountered. But being awakened, handcuffed to the bed just after midnight is the least of Trevor’s concerns, and fills fantasies that he never knew he had.

Narration is again provided by Tim Gerard Reynolds, and the pairing of his voice and the author’s text is perfectly harmonious. Reynolds has a voice that carries a whisper of Ireland in his speech that is more pronounced in Trevor’s speech, and reined back for Cassie’s voicing. Without great changes to tone or pitch, he manages to convey each character with a distinct patois and pacing that suits character and words.

Again this is another winner for fans of the Countermeasure series, these little bytes give both insight and enjoyment as we see more of the characters in their ‘off hours’. The affection that Cassie and Trevor share for one another is viscerally impacting, even more arresting and intriguing than the sex, as their emotional attachment and need for one another is displayed with raw imagery for the reader.

I was provided an audiobook copy from the authors for purpose of honest review for the Heard Word at I am, Indeed. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This is the second of 3 ‘shorts’ that serve as filler between the main stories of Countermeasure and To Russia With Love. The authors suggest that you read all the books and shorts in order, and this short is most certainly loaded with erotic content and situations.

This short tells of Trevor’s birthday, and just what Cassie will give him as a present. Terminally allergic to ‘surprise’ parties, Trevor is dreading whatever surprise Cassie has dreamed up but won’t share.

Just after midnight on his birthday, Trevor awakes to find himself handcuffed to the bed, with Cassie ministering to his every need but one – the need to touch her. The scene is smoking hot: the only thing missing is a hyperlink to the nearest store to purchase handcuffs and edible oils. What could read as a step-by- step manual to a light bondage scene, the characters and their playfulness keep the action moving forward with detailed description, that makes you feel as if you are watching the action, rather than just creating imagery in your mind. A nice interlude to fill in the blanks between the two books, where you thought you knew what the newlyweds were up to – but didn’t really know.

This is a short story where sex reigns supreme –

If you thought Countermeasures was graphic, this little short will leave you gasping as it isn’t long before we get very firmly (excuse the pun) into the action! If you are at all prudish then this DEFINITELY isn’t for you as it details sexual acts very graphically between two very consenting adults. To say it made me break into a bit of a sweat is an understatement! But though this certainly ISN’T my usual type of read, I did find it a lot of fun and thought it well written for what it is. As a short story, it works very well and adds an exciting extra dimension to the mainstream novels a bit like the deleted scenes or extras on a DVD. For me, it was like watching your favorite characters from a T.V show once the cameras have moved away for another scene – an almost illicit, forbidden glimpse at what goes on when no one else is supposed to be looking! I really enjoyed it and thought it a fitting start to what looks like becoming a very successful series within a series!

Trevor Bauer is a former NSA Operative haunted by his past. His parents disappeared a few years ago, are presumed dead at sea and he has become obsessed with discovering the truth behind what REALLY happened. Former CIA Agent, Cassandra James has her own issues; she left The Agency after being wounded in the line of duty and is now married to Bauer and working independently with him in Dublin where they seek clues to the truth about his parents disappearance whilst working as freelance agents.

This was the first in a series of shorts that I reviewed for the TBR Ple Blog here : http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/1/catego...

These mini-stories are designed to be Erotic interludes between Cassandra and Trevor's on-going adventures in the world of espionage and so are relatively short on plot devices and more focused on the intimacies between the two leads so expect lots of intimate naughtiness and scenes of an explicit sexual nature!

These short stories are not for the faint-hearted and should be read only by mature adults and those unlikely to be easily embarrassed on the Tube!

With Cuffed at Midnight we get a quick short glance at how things are moving along with Trevor and Cassandra. Trevor’s birthday is approaching and she is at a loss trying to come up with the perfect gift for a geek who has everything (her words, not mine). She wants it to be special and meaningful where it is his first birthday together. She finally settles on the one gift she knows he will enjoy and love….her.

This short story comes complete with handcuffs, edible body oil, and a lot of tangled body parts. Trevor becomes more aware that he fully belongs to Cassandra. He realizes that she is the one that completes him and the one person that he can trust unconditionally.

I am really loving these snippets into this couples lives. The sex is scorching hot, the passion is genuine and real, and it’s all tied up with a bow of true encompassing love.

This is part of the Countermeasure series: Bytes of Life 1.2.

Can I just say that Chris Almeida and Cecilia Aubrey know how to title their books? Well, in Cuffed at Midnight we watch new wife Cassandra try to figure out what to get her geek of a husband, Trevor, for his birthday. What do you get someone like him? He pretty much has everything he wants. She comes up with something hot. Want to know what it is? Well...I'm not going to tell you...because you will LOVE it. The bytes of life that Chris and Cecilia put out in between their full length novels are so fun and keep us engaged in the series. We get to see Trevor and Cassandra navigate married life and after watching their heroics in Countermeasure it is nice to see them act like normal people. It makes them a little more real. In Cuffed at Midnight we get to experience the hot and steamy romance part of a newlywed's relationship. Ladies, after reading this byte, your man will be thanking Chris and Cecilia.

Cassandra has a BIG problem. Trevor's birthday is coming up and she has no clue what to get the Geek who has everything. Inspiration strikes when she remembers a set of handcuffs in her closet and she surprises Trevor with a gift he isn't likely to forget anytime soon.
This is a great second addition to the Bytes of Life series that give the readers a slice of life in the Countermeasure series. Everything that you love about Countermeasure and To Russia with Love is in this book. And it's guaranteed to make you sweat when Cassandra has her wicked way with Trevor!

This one, I think, has all the sex that was left out of all the others....Chris and Cecilia snared me with the edible chocolate body oil....yeah...I didn't even know I harbored those thoughts! bummer that payday is a few more days away....groceries or books???? tough question for me, knowing that more of these books are on my horizon!

Cassie needs a birthday present for Trevor and comes up with the idea of handcuffs and oils that her friend had sent them. She has her way with him. It's been done before. Nothing new in the presentation of the story.
