Remembering Zane is a novella about two High School friends that went seperate ways and reconnect years later under heart-breaking circumstances. What follows is a wonderful, emotional love story that demonstrates how fate can lead two people together, even in tragedy. It's very well written, and the author does a particularly good job at giving a real feel to the characters and their fluctuating feelings as the relationship grows. A tear-jerker with a hapy ending, loved it. Five stars, recommended!

Wow- so much in such a short read. !! I loved it !!! Sigh -

Remembering Zane is a novella so keep in mind that this is a short read , which can be read in under 45 min or less, but saying this its filled to the brim with oodles of goodies that Im sure you will enjoy.. The storyline progresses smoothly and gives the reader everything one could want in a romance..

Remembering Zane will not only grab at your heart strings but leave you teary eyed and even sighing.. A heartfelt romance filled with love, passion, life and an amazingly short story with so much depth,. and of course Characters that Im sure you will fall in love with ** I know I did** ...

John was an absolute sweetheart - carrying a flame for his Best friends Girl * Bonnie ** all these years to only have it re kindled at the mourning of his friends death. Bonnie is conflicted raw emotions running wild, her heart breaking at the news John Delivers during the funeral. Will she ever get over loving and loosing Zane ?

Fluent flowing storyline that will not intrigue you but captivate you till the very end. !!

Have the tissues ready !

I wont go into much detail with this story, except if you after a romantic story, that will make you smirk, cry, giggle and sigh then this story is for you !!

At -99 cents over at Amazon a read def worth its weight in gold ;)

I must say from the onset that I normally do not read romance stories, but felt compelled to pick up Remembering Zane and read it. I immediately became captivated by the author's writing style: airy, sensual and detail oriented. I love details, and Remembering Zane did not disappoint. It is extremely difficult to write using an omniscient point-of-view (the writer getting into the thoughts and motivations of each character instead of the usual one person point-of-view), but Jamie Wilsoncroft pulled it off with flying colors, seamlessly moving through the minds of each of the story's characters and leaving you with a rich perspective of the entire plot, and masterfully spoon-feeding the sexual tension until it is as taut as a violin string. I was carried along by the heart and was completely unable to put the book down until it was finished, and was not wanting for more. Remembering Zane is a perfectly balanced tale, not too intricate or trite. I wholeheartedly recommend Remembering Zane. It will bring your blood to a feisty simmer and deliver you ready for dessert. If you read this story, you will be Remembering Zane for years to come!

Wilsoncroft got picked up by Write More Publications and they did a reprint of Remembering Zane. Gave it a beautiful new cover and even a couple new chapters were added as well. Being a HUGE fan of Wilsoncroft I jumped at the chance to review it again. To see my first review go
http://twimom101bookblog.blogspot.com...

I thought the first time I read Remembering Zane it was great. But here I am finishing up with it a 2nd time and all of it's added chapter glory, and I think it's even better. I loved how the author gave us more of their relationship...a wedding...babies. Ok, ok, will stop there. You get the gist...it's just so, so good not to rattle on about.

I also want to mention that the first time I read Remembering Zane was right after losing my father. So the opening scene was a bit rough on me. The feelings the author wrote were spot on and and brought on some strong emotions. Now it's been a bit longer and the emotions are still there. This only shows this lady knows how to write the scenes that come alive and affect a reader. Kudos!

In my first review I think the only problem I had with the book was it was a short story. But dreams do come true! With the added chapters it still is shorter than most books, but I was in heaven since I was able to get more of these great characters. Jon is just a wonderful, wonderful man that I adore dearly. Such a great character for the book. And I was glad I was able to read more about him.

The great thing about Wilsoncroft's books is they target everyday people. With each of her books you get something new and different...not the same old-same old you read all the time. So do me a favor and check out her books over on goodreads then pick one up today to read.

I have said this before about this book, but I will say it again; this is the hardest book for me to review. I love this story so much it is difficult for me to talk about it without giving too much away. Ms. Wilsoncroft grabbed this reader from page one and reluctantly released me at the end. I laughed, cried, and just plain loved this book. Bonnie and Jonathan have to endure so much in order to reach the climatic end to this story. It broke my heart to read who Zane was thinking about in the end. If you do not pick up this book, you will truly regret it.

Sweet. Romantic. Emotional. For a short read, this little novella gives you a BIG story. The story of lost love, failed marriages and renewed hope to finally be with the one person you've always wanted. Sometimes, they're staring you right in the face but you miss the signs and that is one of the underlined messages of this little gem.

I would recommend this to everyone. It's short and you can easily slide it in between your larger reads.

Sadly this was not a great book. It had a lot of promise but the synopsis made it out to be so much more than it was.

When the book started, I felt like I was thrown right into the middle of a storyline and missed something. I couldn't connect with the characters or feel any real emotions.

Bonnie's feelings for Zane were not believable and she was over the top, especially at his funeral where his WIFE and CHILD were. Bonnie cried in all8 chapters, like a lot. I feel that was all she did. Her flirty moments were confusing, if she was still hung up on Zane and the 'I Love You Jon' moments were not to be believed either. Most of the book she felt like Jon was her brother... so the whole I love you more than that was not sitting right with me.

Jonathan, aka: Jon, had a lot of issues in my opinion. In a way, he was bipolar. He was hot tempered. He was stalkerish. He was a crazed jealous man. He never listened to Bonnie's 'I'll call you later' and would just show up or constantly call her. He had some tantrums, he cried a bit, he had inappropriate thoughts at bad times, he blew his lid and jumped to conclusions a lot and he was ready to fight Ray too quickly when Bonnie wasn't his to have.

There was no point to the whole Zane/Jon/Bonnie triangle or Ray/Bonnie/Jon triangle were both pointless.

Parts of the stories were never resolved. There were many times the characters were doing one thing then whoosh! They were doing something else or in a new spot but no real detailed about getting there.

Ah yes! That's the problem with this book. It lacked LOADS OF DETAILS! Great concepts but not thought out well. The pregnancy parts didn't sit well with this mom. And there were too many complete time jump issues. We miss the whole dating process and jump to marriage then straight to the birthing.

4.5*

Bonnie is devastated by the tragic death of her one true love, Zane. We follow her as she struggles through the days and weeks and learn how she comes to terms with the situation.

This is a very moving short story, the description made it easy for me to put myself in Bonnie’s place and feel her pain. The way smells and colours reminded her of him were true to life and I found those scenes heart wrenching. There were some points that I was unsure of their relevance to the story for instance Bonnies day trip to the ER, I’m not quite sure why it was in there it seemed to steal precious time from the main body of the story and her accidental overdose was very random, and without reason.

The thing I like about novella’s is also the thing I don’t like about them………their length!! I like the fact that we get to the conclusion quickly; I read this in under an hour, but sometimes (if the story grips me) the length makes me feel short changed. This is one of those times, I wanted to read more, I wanted more detail, I wanted more of the good stuff !!! I feel this could easily have been stretched into a full length novel, giving the characters more depth and allowing us to savour the story rather than rushing through it……..This is a good comment by the way because it means I was enjoying the read and didn’t want it to end quite so soon!

Bonnie felt lost when Zane died, but Jon refused to let her fade away and kept her grounded. Behind it all, Jon fervently wished for something more between them and is considerate as they help each other work through their shared grief over a lost friend. However, Jon is more than ready to finally make his move on the woman he has loved for a long time and refuses to let anyone dead or alive stand in the way.

A sincere story of a woman learning to recover from the tragic death of a love that had started at an early age. As she heals past the pain, she discovers a new love for someone who has been there all along. Sweet in its entirety, this short story covers a large span of time with glimpses of the past and into the future. Although I wished for many more pages, I was surprised and delighted by the emotional quality and the character depth that was displayed. I am excited to continue discovering what else this talented author has to offer!

In need of a sweet romance where love conquers all – even grief? Well J.S. Wilsoncroft has just what you need!

Bonnie is a dental hygienist who, as the story opens, learns that her first love (and ex-boyfriend), Zane, was just killed in an accident. Jon was Zane's best friend. Jon had loved Bonnie for the past 15 years but never approached her out of respect. But now that Zane died, could he possibly win the affections of Bonnie?

Getting over the death (physical or emotional) is difficult for anyone, and for Bonnie it's nearly impossible. But there always comes a time to let go.

Recommendation:This was a sweet, quick read. I wasn't in love with the book, the plot, or the characters, but I did like the book. It is worth the short amount of time it takes to read it.

2 SAD Stars.

While I loved the premise of this book, the execution of the story was very disappointing. This book is very poorly written, the story does not flow and there is no sense of a timeline. After reading this book I was left with one HUGE glaring unanswered question; WHY did Bonnie and Zane break up after being together for 10 Years? This book had the potential to portray this heart wrenching story of the lost love between Bonnie and Zane, but if fell short. The emerging love story between Bonnie and Jon left me feeling like "Wow, that's it after all the years that Jon had been in love with Bonnie?", again disappointing.

Definitely not an erotica, but I pictured Jonathan naked for most of it, so I was satisfied! haha.. Great book. Very cute, I was a little annoyed with Bonnie, I couldn't understand why she didn't see what was right in front of her! I was screaming! Bonnie, he's right there, he's sexy, he's funny, you've known him your entire life! Then she noticed, and I was taken. Very sweet, very romantic, and ... I loved the ending. If I were a romance reviewer, I would give this 5 gushing hearts... ;) Lovely:)

I was asked by the author to review her book and received an ARC.*

I love stories like this. I am not morbid I promise. Sometimes I feel like you need to be shaken up a bit. Remembering Zane did just that for me. It is a quick read (but took me a lot longer as I was sick)
I love happy ending as much as the next girl.

We all know that sometimes life is not fair and we don't always get that happily ever after with the one. That is what I enjoyed about this book. Bonnie was in love with her High School sweetheart, they dated for many years broke up  and she felt like most of us who still have hope with "the one" that some day he would return to her. Like that saying "if you love it set it free, if it returns it was meant to be."Unfortunately, for Bonnie that would never be. Life is not always rainbows and butterflies (thank you Maroon 5 for that) this is what Bonnie learns, the "one" that got away from her dies in a car accident. She will never know if they ever had another chance to be happy again.
I know you are saying WTF? how is this supposed to make me want to read this? Well lets just say that life has a crazy way of always presenting different doors for you to open. Bonnie needs to learn to let go of Zane and try to find true happiness. I know that is hard. I have been here, so I could relate. Sometimes life is crap, someone you love dies, and you feel as though
there is a huge hole in your heart. While reading this I felt as though
Bonnie wanted to give up and die and say "SCREW YOU LIFE" but in the
midst of all that,She had to learn to be strong and move forward, to
remember the great things in life and hold on to the precious memories
of Zane. Ready? Open door one, Zane's best friend Jonathan.

and then door 2 Sexy Dentist Bonnie works with

Now I know your like HUH? Zane's best friend oh heck no, and wait a sexy Dr. too?  Well I am not about to give up all the details so you need to read this to find out for yourself, what happens and how Bonnie learns to love again.
J.S. has written a beautiful novella of the courage that it takes for Bonnie to move forward. Yes, it was hard. Yes, she grieves but in the end she learns to open herself up for more. I enjoyed this novella because of that rawness. Its not easy to go through life when the one you love is no longer in this world. I laughed, I cried, I cheered for Bonnie and swelled with happiness when she finally decides to open herself up again for love.

First off, I was really put off by the random tense changes and the commas that were in places they didn't need to be. I can usually overlook editing issues but I picked up quite a few in here that distracted me from the story.

About the story, the whole thing just didn't flow for me. I mean, first of all, Bonnie and Zane hadn't been together in years and she's like beyond devastated about his death, which I can understand to an extent. But what the author doesn't really cover is what happened to them to break them up or why the didn't end up together. If I'm supposed to connect with their characters, it's imperative that I understand at least a little of the backstory in a plot that deals with a character who is no longer alive. I don't understand why they said that Zane was calling for his wife on his deathbed and he thought Bonnie was his wife. It was all a bit unreal to me.

Then at the funeral Bonnie meets up with Jon who seems to have had a huge crush on Bonnie since high school but he was also Zane's best friend so he couldn't make a move on her. There was the whole plot with the guy at her work hitting on her while Jon was there and stuff that seemed a bit unnecessary and then after seemingly turning Jon down, she all of the sudden decides she loves him and ends up marrying him... it just seems way to rushed and unrealistic to me.

I was really excited about reading this book based on the synopsis but for such a short read it just didn't work for me. If it were longer and had more time to explain everything I would have connected more maybe, but with the way the story stands, I can't give it more than 3 stars and that's being generous.

J.S. Wilsoncroft's short story, Remembering Zane, made me want to jump into the story with the characters.

From the moment I picked this book up, I couldn't put it down. I felt all of Bonnie's highs and lows. I just wished it had been a novel, rather than a short story.

Bonnie met the love of her life at the age of ten. Zane was the apple of her eye, her everything, the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with, marriage and children...the perfect life.

But all of a sudden Zane is killed in a tragic accident.

Bonnie's feels like her life is over; she will never be able to replace him or fill the void in her heart.

A face from the past, Zane's best friend Johnathon walks back into her life, but not the goofy braced faced boy she remembered; he is now a man and a hunk of a man.

Holding a secret he has kept for fifteen years, Johnathon feels now is the time he should share.

Will this secret help Bonnie's pick up the pieces of her life?

Everything has changed now, Johnathon is around bringing a few surprises that may shock her or maybe map out their future. A fabulous 5 fairies, but I was left wanting more!

I was absolutely loved this book! I couldnt put it down!! There was so much emotion in this book, i actually cried! I mean to loose someone you love died what would you do? Espically if it was someone you loved since you were 10 years old! Wilsoncroft knows how to write a great book! I cried when something sad happened and I laughed when there was good parts.
Bonnie loved a boy name Zane since she was only 10years old, they dated for awhile then broke up. Bonnie was the kind of girl that knew who she would end up with in her love life and that was Zane. Just when you thought that the book would have a happy ending Zane dies, but when Zane's best friend Jonathon comes into the picture new feelings start to stir up espically for Jonathon who has loved Bonnie since they were in high school. You start to wonder if Bonnie be able to love again, that is if Jonathon can tell her how he has felt for so long.

This book like I said took me through a roller coaster of emotion, it was really good! I have to admit that I dont normally read books that arent paranormal, but in this case I will make an exception! If you were looking to take a break from paranormal trust me you should read this one! I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

Bonnie Reece has always loved Zane Withers, ever since she was ten years old. But when she finds out that he was killed in an accident, she is totally devastated. At the funereal, she meets Zane's best friend, Jonathan Woods. Jonathan has loved Bonnie since the 7th grade, but Bonnie never knew. Now they've met again, will Jonathan finally pluck up his courage and tell Bonnie his secret?

This is a short romance story of 52 pages, but it is well written and full of emotion. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, even though it was also very sad. I shed a few tears for a character I'd never met, but looking through the eyes of the two main characters, I could feel he was a kind and caring person who would be sadly missed. Bonnie and Jonathan are two friends who have lost another best friend, but their loss brings them together.
I would like to thank the author, Jamie Wilsoncroft, for her generous gift of an e-book copy of this book to read. I will always be remembering Zane from now on. I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future.

Let me start off by saying that I won this book on Goodreads.com I do love the idea and concept behind this story, and it was very much so, a quick goodread. However, it was a short story, I can see how some of the details had to be trimmed off the top to fit the novella format. With that said I just wish I could have felt more for the characters of Bonnie and Jon, like if they were all such good friends why lose contact with each other for so long? What happened in that span of time? And why wait until Zane's death to reconnect? More details and background on the characters themselves would have completed it for me. Would love to see a more finished and detailed version of this story. It's a great work in progress.......

This was a great novella about love after tragedy. I couldn’t put it down. High school friends are brought back together by a death that changes the course of their lives forever. This was a very emotional read on many levels. It was greatly written and flowed extremely well. I found myself wanting to read more about their high school days as well as their future life. It is a great story of finding love through obstacles of life and has a very touching ending. This was a great romantic read. I can’t wait to read more from J.S. Wilsoncroft. I would defiantly recommend it and give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Bonnie has been on love with Zane for fifteen years then she finds out that he has died in a nasty car accident, while at the funeral she runs into an old friend of hers and Zane's, Jon. Jon himself is in love with Bonnie but has never told her because of her love for Zane.

I enjoyed the romance of this story and the connection between characters. I love when I can connect with the characters and that's what J.S Wilsoncroft does when she writes she helps you feel what the characters feel and includes you in their would.
Such a wonderful read!

This is a sweet little story about love and loss. It's sweet and endearing. By sweet, I mean the sex is implied, there's nothing steamy. There's not really too much spectacular. Very little dramatic climax. It's basically, hey I love you, always have, oh hey, just realized I love you, let's get married. If you're looking for a quick joyful, happy ending ... read this! Looking for something with more action? Find something else.

I thought it was a little weird that everyone was so worried about Bonnie, when her and Zane hadn't been together for years. They broke up and he got married, but people were worried about her and how she was taking it. It was weird. Then Jonathan comes back into her life and out of nowhere she realizes she loves him? It was just didn't make sense or flow in my opinion.

I am glad I read this book it was sad, funny, & heart warming. The characters were well thoughtout & so well blended with each other so the flow of the storyline was interesting. I just found it sad that if what happened to Zane hadn't happened Jon & Bonnie would not have not gotten together. I am glad it worked out the way it did. I just don't get why Zane & Bonnie didn't stay together?
