Strike one was the author using "to cum". There is no such thing. 'Cum' is that oozy stuff you get when you come. One of my biggest pet peeves is authors using 'cum' as a verb. It's not a bloody verb! It's time to stop it, it's just making you look very stupid.

Strike two was how very clinical the smut was. There was no passion, no feelings, no connecting with the characters. I know it's a short story, but there was no getting into their heads. It was all very superficial.

Supposedly this is a D/s story - but there wasn't much of anything D/s going on. Just by someone claiming to be a Dom and telling someone they can't talk, doesn't a D/s story make. (Yay if that sentence made sense to anyone.)

Bottom line is, the story read as if the author had done some quick researching into the D/s scene, and then gone ahead and written up a story. Know what you write and write what you know seems to be something of the past with authors. I really wish they'd take that to heart, because writing what you don't know makes for a bad read.

I first discovered Lacey when I finally read Amber’s Muse. Not only was a it a quick little read, but it was sexy and very clever. So, naturally, I dove right into my Manic account to see if there was more Lacey for me to read. THERE WAS! And not just more, but it had a D/s theme! SOLD! I was granted a copy from the publisher and instantly dove in! Not just HOT! But HOT!!!!!

I have to give the author credit on two accounts. Writing a story, hot read that kept my interest, and she was able to write a very believable intro into the BDSM lifestyle. I have issues with the books where a Dom grabs a normally vanilla woman and just starts getting at her with a flogger. Some stories that works with, but with a contemporary erotica read, that wouldn’t work. It would leave me feeling a bit put off. This story not only shows the lead male, Chase coaxing submission from Sarah, but he does it with safety and so subtly that Sarah feels comfortable and trusts him. I was so glad I got the chance to read this cheeky little tale. It was a quick read, it was short, and yes, I wish I had more. But as a whole I totally enjoyed this story. I have so much respect for how this author wrote the D/s theme that she has gone on my top buy list! I love her easy writing style, and boy does she write some hot sex!

Without a doubt a recommended read to those of you that like some D/s with your erotic encounters!

This was a very short story and an Amazon freebie !! Sarah is in her forties and has been without sex for the last year. Finding herself horny and without a guy she decides she will get the local hot guy Chase round on a false errand of changing a lightbulb, and then basically they have sex!!
I wasn't overly keen with this short story and maybe if it had been longer it would have been better?? The characters were ok, I found it a bit unbelievable that they hadn't had any interaction before but were both happy to just have at it! The sex wasn't really all that hot, and I didn't even really think he was that much of a dominant more like just a bit kinky.

Twice divorced and abstinent for the last year, Sarah decides to do something about it. Her neighbor Chase has a reputation for his prowess in bed, and if she can bait him into coming over he may just take the bait. However, Sarah didn't realize the rumors of Chase being a Dom were true, will she be able to handle the demands he will make?

This is a fun quickie. It didn't have enough time to develop the characters but if you are looking for a little snack, this one is a perfect one to pick up.

Sarah has been divorced and is now in her 40's. She can't figure out why a tall thin beautiful lady such as herself can't get any guy to look at her. She is very mad at men and has sworn them off, until NOW. Causing some minor problems that need to be fixed at home she goes down to the local bar and asks the one man she has been watching to come back and help her.
Chase is in his 20's but very atracted to Sarah and sees right through why she invites him to her apartment. When he gets to her place she is in for quite the surprise of what he may expect of her! Will she follow through and do as she is told or will she run and continue to swear off men all together?

Okay so Sarah has had it rough. She is 40+ Never had an orgasm and wants 28 year old Chase.. The sex was great. The story was short and good. The only issue was the 28 year old who hangs out at the neighborhood pool. I don't know this entire portion of the story bothered me because it reminded me of me and my friends when we were only 17 years old. It was just strange. I also had no idea that this was a BDSM and that part of the book did not go well with the story. He walked in her house and immediately demanded her to do something. I am going to give it 3 stars because the story was HOT.

Sarah was a great character who wanted to re-embrace her sexuality. In spite of her confidence in her appearance she is beginning to have doubts about her attractiveness. Then enter Chase, he's a bit of a ladies man. Younger than Sarah by about 10 years. She figures she can have a fling with a dominate younger man. She knows he can satisfy because neighborhood women praise his prowess. Chase on the other hand is over the shallowness of his sexual encounters. He's ready for a woman he can connect with and who will submit to him. Sarah and Chase are hot together and I'm looking forward to reading more of this author's work.

Surprisingly enough, this was an enjoyable read even though it's a May/Dec relationship. This is a very short story; basically it's a precursor to a sex scene and then the sex scene itself. But the writing was smooth and fluid and I might be tempted to try another book by this author; preferably a full-length novel, as opposed to a short novella such as this one. One thing I didn't like: they don't use a condom and it's never even mentioned.

There was a hint of emotion at the beginning, but the sex was pretty dry (pun intended). It hinted strongly at D/s type stuff (not a bad thing), but then just kind of had an aggressive alpha male rather than anything real D/s about it. I would have preferred to leave any talk of "domination" or "control" out of it and just had a strong, assertive male making the woman do what he wants because he's a strong, assertive male.
