Instead, she’ll be surrounded by vampires at the fifteen hundredth re-birthday party of their leader. With access to synthetic and donor blood, vampires are no longer just creatures of myth—they are out and proud, living amongst the humans they used to secretly feed upon. And no one besides Olivia seems to have a problem with them. As if her trust issues aren’t enough to cope with tonight, she also has to deal with her feelings for her co-worker Daniel. Gorgeous, kind, and honest, he’s the perfect guy… except for the fact that he’s dead, his diet consists solely of blood, and those long, romantic walks on the beach that women fantasize about would turn him into dust.
Daniel hates who and what he is. There is no redemption possible, no way for him to be the man Olivia deserves. But, damn it, that’s exactly who he wants to be. And just when she finally opens up and lets him into her heart, everything she lives for is put at risk. Can Daniel overcome two lifetimes of guilt and be the man she needs? Will either of them get out of this alive?

Well I will say that I definetly enjoyed this read. I know the author, but she didn't freakin tell me that she wrote it or that it was available.... but I have my spies! BHAHAHAHAHA!
[
First of all the writing was excellent, clear, and concise. I didn't find any grammar errors, not that I'm the grammar queen, but if I see a grammar problem then the book sucks! LOL. None were here.
I loved Olivia (she had spunk). I also wanted to hump Daniel (the vampire.)
Ok so you're asking me... why not a four or five star?
-- For me, I felt like the relationship was quickly developed. This is truly a personal taste of mine, but I usually want to root for the characters to get together first and then watch their desires and relationship develop.
They worked together, but I never got any feel that their was any real attraction or desire until right when one of the characters expressed it. Which is fine. This happens in bestselling books all of the time.
-- I thought the
-- I thought the ending was anticlimactic. First, let's keep in mind that I am a Action-seeking Horndog. Not everyone wants to see someone's heart be ripped out, ate, and then a sex scene in the next chapter.
However I would have loved a little more...
-- I think Olivia got over her fear of vampires too soon.
(This from someone who sleeps with the lights on and a chair propped up to the door with pans balancing on top of it so that if someone opens the door there is a big crash to notify me that... yes... the serial killer coming to kill me is real... not an imagination!!! :-O )
Now let's get into why I couldn't put the damn book down.
---IT WAS HILARIOUS
Check this excerpt out:
Her hand shot up to her neck, but she regained control and redirected it to scratch her shoulder. He laughed. "I wasn't looking at your carotid. Wow, um . . . does it make you feel better to know that I was looking at your breasts? Because . . . I was, and . . . um . . . that's really awkward to admit." She had no idea vampires could be embarassed. She hadn't even thought they could blush. "So you weren't thinking about slipping your teeth inside of me?" He laughed again. "Not my teeth, no." "Oh," she said, feeling her cheeks heat with blood her human heart was pumping out extremely quickly. "Okay, good. Well, not 'good' in that way, but 'good' as in 'I'm glad you're not going to eat me.'" She cringed as soon as the innuendo hit the air. "Olivia, we need to stop having this conversation now."
-- Her take on Vampires was fun and entertaining! Then.... scary!
--Olivia and Daniel may have got together too quickly for me but.... Wow the hotness between them was beyond entertaining to say the least. There was enough sexual tension in this book to make me attack my husband once I finished. To say the least, he five starred the book and would like me to read it again tonight. lol!
A sweet novella, a love story about true soulmates. totally loved that the author gave us a complete story. It was too short but did not lack any details or leave us wondering of the outcome between the H&H.
Party planner, Olivia, would rather be getting a root canal than be surrounded by vampires at the 1500th Re-Birthday party of their leader. With access to synthetic and donor blood, vampires are out and proud, living amongst the humans they used to secretly feed upon. And no one besides Olivia seems to have a problem with them.
As if her trust issues aren’t enough to cope with tonight, she also has to deal with her co-worker Daniel. Gorgeous, kind and honest, he’s the perfect guy . . . except for the fact that he’s dead and his diet consists solely of blood. Oh, and those long, romantic walks on the beach that women fantasize about would turn him into dust.
Daniel hates who and what he is. There is no redemption possible, no way for him to be the man Olivia deserves. But, damn it, that’s exactly who he wants to be.
Just when she finally accepts him for who she thinks he is, everything she lives for is put at risk. Can Daniel overcome two lifetimes of guilt and be the man she needs? Will either of them get out of this alive?
My Thoughts: This is my second Lauren Stewart book that I've read and I've got to say that I love her writing style. Her stories are detailed, fluid, and unique. This short (and sweet...literally) novella delivered a message about the power of love and sacrificing oneself for that love. My only problem with the story? It was too short! But, I loved it!
I really liked it. I won't say much so as not to give anything away, except that I love to be surprised by a book, and this one had me shouting at my computer! In a good way.
This is a really short story so I can't really say much. In a nutshell, this is a "short romance" about the Vampire who started it all. He's lived for centuries, and now he works with the humans, as a human and is in love with a co-worker. This last, he doesn't realize until tragedy strikes and he has to choose between what he is, and who he loves.
Overall it was an entertaining short story. The hero could probably have had a bit more alpha in him-- he was just too nice and soft for the Vampire he was supposed to be, in my opinion anyway. When I read about Vampires I expect to see a sensual thrill, almost a threat, enchantment, you know. After all they're supposed to be kind of that forbidden fruit, don't you dare bite it. Well, while this read was ok, it did leave me craving for some of that.
Blurb: Party planner, Olivia, would rather be getting a root canal.

I am a big fan of Lauren Stewart and was excited when she sent me this book for a review. I am a big Paranormal reader and so a vampire novella is totally up my alley. This book is pretty much told in 2 parts....part one is the party and part two is after the party. Part one is hot and sexy but part two is emotional and full of longing.
Where do I begin? Oh I know it is to tell you that this author is amazing!!! I loved this book. Daniel is a hot vampire who works for a party planners. Olivia is his boss and he is totally hot for her. They are planning the first ever Happy Re-Birthday Party for the leader of all vampires named Magnus. She is a closet bigot and hates vampires BUT at the same time has naughty thought about Daniel. Well the two of them end up making a "non-date" (by the way my favorite scene how he goes about asking her out) but decide to just skip to the sex....lol. Anyway, while they have slipped away for naughty time, some bad things happen. Daniel makes a huge sacrifice to keep Olivia safe. Daniels sacrafice allows him a second chance of life. The second part of the novel Daniel is searching for his way back to Olivia while she is searching for Daniel.
If you haven't read anything by this author I would recommend it 100%. I have appointed myself President of her fan club....let's be honest i am sooo not a secretary kinda girl :) I have her books on auto buy at this point. She writes hot scenes, emotional longing and amazing characters with depth. She also had a knack for throwing in the amazing twist, to make you, the reader scream~!!!! Any who if you read this blog you must want me opinion....so buy the book pep!!!
This story is not so much original, but I liked idea about vampires getting with their secret out. It was really boring for most time, but when vampires attacked I started to enjoy it. Well the twist was great and I would be really glad if it would ended with Daniel's death, that would be such an awesome impact but nope! He was brought back and this is my biggest problem! I just don't like reviving. Another rating: 3/10
Olivia is in love with Daniel. Only problem? He's a vampire! Olivia does not trust vampires. When Daniel and Olivia finally take a chance, Daniel has a surprise that changes everything.
Excellent writing, depth, strong characters, violence, romance, mystery, thrills, and just a fun read. All that in a short story.
This was a quick, fun read but there was enough story here for a full novel. That left me feeling like it didn't live up to its full potential, with fully developed characters that I could care about. I liked the bones of the story, and would still recommend this for vampire lovers looking for a fast read, but I wanted more- or less, but a more developed less.
