Ellie Fountain is the apple of her father, Ben’s eye. Her mother died young and she has grown up as his right hand man in his attempt to make their ranch, Fountainhead, one of the most successful in the territory.

Ellie may have tended toward tomboyish ways as she grew up in a world populated by ranch hands, but she loved it. Life wasn’t always easy, but Ellie and Ben managed well between them, until a stranger rode over the hill and asked Ben for work.

This is a story I can really get into. Ellie is a tomboy. Her father always wanted a boy but ended up with a girl who dresses and acts like a boy which, back then was frowned upon. While Ellie is always trying to get people to see she isn't a fragile little girl but she also has to complete for her fathers attention with the forman, Tyler, who is the son he never had. But it's hard to stay mad and jealous over Ty when she's starting to blossom into a women and can't stop staring into his sky blu ...more

Ellie Fortune, a feisty tomboy, sets out to prove she can run her father's Tennessee ranch better than any guy, especially Tyler Bishop, the ranch foreman her father seems to favor over her. I loved the character of Ellie Fountain, a slightly spoiled tomboy who suddenly awakens to the possibility of love with a man she knows nothing about. A man her father has taken a shine to and risks overshadowing her.

Ginger Simpson does a great job with her heroes too, Tyler Bishop is one sexy cowboy, with a gentleman’s manners and a soft heart.

However the Fountain farm is under threat and Ellie is prepared to defend her home, but first she needs to know how to shoot, so she buys a gun. A lovely

Ginger Simpson grew up reading anything by Laura Ingalls Wilder and became so fascinated with western historical novels, they've remained her favorite for more years than she cares to admit.

In 2002, Ginger decided to attempt writing her own novel, and in 2003 her first offering, Prairie Peace, was published. Since then, she's dabbled in other genres but always seems to migrate back to her favorite
