If you're an experienced decorator, you probably won't like this book. If however, you're a new homeowner looking for instructions and advice for putting together your home, this is a really good book. It's less about inspiration and more about the nuts and bolts of putting a home together and making it look good. The best part are the pros/cons of different materials. As a result, I've decided to switch from a cast iron tub to a copper one (more expensive, but better heat retention).
Very good and contemporary if you're remodeling your home, I might pick it up in the future. Nice icons for things like the durability of materials and their prices.
This book is for people who like to go to The Home Depot to look at DIY items, replace furniture in living rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, etc., and design the interiors of rooms themselves.
Exactly what the title says. A step by step guide to how to remodel/decorate your home. First, draw up your plans, second call for quotes, etc. Very handy for new homeowners or first time renovators. The more experienced designer/decorator would benefit from some of the info but not as much.
Took this book out of the library to help with some frustrating decorating challenges, and am blown away by the practical, comprehensive range of ideas within.
