Her yesterday was five years ago. What will her tomorrow bring?
When HANNAH KRAEGER saves a family injured in a car accident, she has no idea she has changed events in the past. Waking the next morning, Hannah discovers her yesterday was really five years ago.
Each trip Hannah takes through time changes the timeline and her own life. With help from DR. SETH MCALLISTER, Hannah must unravel the mystery of why she time travels and who she actually is before the strange ability costs her future, the man she loves, and even her life.
YESTERDAY is a thrilling Christian Romantic Suspense filled with unexpected twists, mystery, and romance.
Seth and the romance was weird and the characters say each other's names in every sentence, which is one of my pet peeves. People don't talk like that in real life.
I haven't read a lot of time travel novels and I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of the genre (even though I've really enjoyed most of the ones I've read!). As with fantasy, when I read one of these types of novels, I try to enter with the mindset that there will probably be some unbelievable aspects, and that's what I did with this book.
Yesterday was really good. I found the story fascinating and it kept me turning pages. The time travel aspect to the story was very intriguing and definitely made the book distinct from other books I've read.
The characters were good. I liked Hannah - the little quirks she had (like her phobia of driving and riding in a car, her dislike of surprises, etc.) made her seem more real. At times, the writing wasn't that polished, but it was still pretty good.
Overall, I really enjoyed Yesterday! It was an interesting and quick read. The ending left me wanting to read "The Locket" (book two) very much. I recommend Yesterday to fans of these types of stories.

This book was definitely an interesting read. I really didn't read the description before I started reading it, I just knew it had time travel. To be honest, this is my fastest read book in a long time, I really wanted to know what happened with the characters.
However....the plot did feel a bit rushed, and I really had trouble with the believability of all of these characters just accepting time travel. Also the romance felt a bit rushed, almost more like obsession than love. (The love interest was just not my fav, so maybe that was why??)
I feel a good age demographic for this book would probably be middle grade to early highschool.
All that being said, I still gave it three stars, because I COULDN'T put it down, and haven't felt that way about a book in a long time! Props to Amanda for writing an engaging story!
An intriguing time travel story with interesting twists! Very fascinating to see the way the future was altered by changes the MC made in the past. The book ends with a big cliffhanger so I’m looking forward to reading Book 2 in this series!
Yesterday, book 1 in Yesterday series**** by Amanda Tru
Hannah Kraeger comes across a car accident along the mountainous, snow covered terrain of the Sierra mountains and saves the lives of a family—a husband, wife and two children—injured in the accident. The next morning, Hannah discovers no one has heard of an accident—yesterday, but there was one five years ago. Hannah discovers her yesterday is really 5 years ago....not yesterday. She has no idea that she has changed events in the past. Hannah has traveled back in time. Will it happen again? Can she stop it? Is this God's plan for her life—time-travel? Dr. Seth McAllester met Hannah at the hospital and has looked for her for years...5 years. It's as if she simply disappeared, vanished. Where is she? Why can't he find her?
When Hannah time-travels again, she and Seth are re-united. He is over joyed to finally having found her—his angel of mercy. She is confused even more. What “time” is she in now? What is she supposed to do? She convinces Seth that she is from the future and he tries to help her to unravel the mystery of why and how she time-travels and who she actually is before the strange ability costs her future, the man she loves and even her life.
I don't normally read fiction about time-travel, but something drew me to this book. I am so glad I read it, it was surprisingly good. It was not difficult to keep up with what “time period” Hannah was in. I found myself rooting for Hannah and Seth to be able to find each other again and somehow stay together. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and kept me up late, as I wanted to find out what happens next. The secondary characters were fun to watch and added to the story line in many ways. Even in time-travel, love is found. The romance between Hannah and Seth was unique, in that they came from different time periods in history but somehow connected in the same time period. But will they be able to actually stay in the same time period, together forever? Or, will they forever be pulled apart as Hannah is taken into another time period?
~~I received a paper back copy of this book from TBCN and the author for my honest review~~
Wow!! This mesmerizing story of time travel by Amanda Tru starts out with a terrible accident that Hannah Kraeger happens across on her way up a mountain. It proceeds from there to a roaring crescendo,as my heart was racing with questions and details, and abruptly stops like a sheer drop-off. A most compelling reason to go out and buy the rest of the series, but this time, I'll be prepared for roller-coaster emotions that are brought to a sudden stop. I will be prepared.
After miraculously rescuing a family on a snow-bound road, Hannah discovers that no one local knows of the accident happening that night...but an identical one took place, five years before. This was Hannah's accident. Hannah is able to track down the charming and handsome doctor who was involved in saving the family's lives, as well as the family themselves. Great connections are formed, and electricity sparks between Hannah and the doctor,Seth. Unfortunately, Seth has given up on finding his angel of mercy and is now engaged to cold, calculating Katheryn. Before Hannah can sort everything out, she time-travels again, and life becomes complicated as the reader anxiously awaits for the next disappearance of Hannah.
Great, totally believable characters in an incredible situation.Good study questions at the back of the book with Scripture references for aid. Secondary characters are planted who will more than likely have their own time in this series, and I can't wait for each story to find fruition.
The big question of the book seems to be, should Hannah use her knowledge of the future to change the past, and thus, the future? Not a lot of mention about God, but Seth does say he believes"God had the foreknowledge of how I was going to mess up and was big enough to handle turning my faults into something good." So we are encouraged to believe that God can take our mistakes and use them in His ultimate plan.
Hurrying off to buy the rest of the series. I gratefully received this book from bookfun.org in exchange for an honest review.
Yesterday Book one by: Amanda Tru I really liked this time travel book. It grabs you at the start and don't let go till the end. A young lady , Hannah Kraeger , saves a family during a snow storm who had went off the road into an incline. There was a woman , her husband and two children. She had to see if they were still alive. Hannah's phone had no signal. She had to get down to them, but how was she going to do that ? She gets them all up and carries them to the hospital and she meets this Med Dr. Seth McAllister. She was in bad shape and pretty upset . Dr. Seth was trying to comfort her and told her he did not know how she did it ,but that she probably had saved their lives. When Hannah wakes up the next morning no one had heard of the accident. They said that there was no snow storm last night, but they had heard of a family that had went off the road five years ago. Well Hannah's five years ago had been last night. No one will believe what she is telling them .. They want to carry her to a doctor. Had she went back into time and saved this family, and did God send her back to save them ? Did she change the course of this family? She again goes back into time and she has no warning when this will happen. Each time she does this it takes a lot out of her . Dr. Seth looked everywhere for Hannah after the first time. He could not find her anywhere. Do they ever meet again? Some wants Hannah to go and have test run, but she does not want people thinking she is crazy. I really enjoyed this Time Travel Suspense Romance and can't wait to read part two ,The Locket. This is a fun romantic suspense with a touch of sci-fi and mystery thrown in. If you like unexpected twists and turns that result in second chances pick-up Yesterday today!
I was provided a copy of this book through TBCN/BookFun in exchange for my honest review.
Are there days when you wish you could go back to some former time and redo things? change something? I know there are days when I feel that way, but Hannah Kraeger does not wish for this to happen and yet it does. What she experienced as yesterday really happened years previously. If she makes changes, does that alter the world in a way that would be displeasing to God? Is there a plan for the time-travel that God has for her life? Hannah has many questions and few answers. I enjoy the fast-paced suspense in Yesterday. I love those books that have me literally "on the edge of my seat" trying to figure out what in the world is going to happen next. Yesterday is definitely one of those books! This book will allow you to leave your own cares and worries and be transported to another time and place along with Hannah and her oh so delicious doctor boyfriend. Now I can not wait to read Book 2: The Locket.
Breathe deep and fill your lungs now because you won't be able to catch your breath once you start ..................The story is fast-paced, with interesting characters in an incredible situation and a completely riveting storyline. The reader is gripped in an unrelenting, mesmerizing hold until the ending. The main character finds herself learning about breaking free of the present, and being able to walk back to the past. How and why is unknown. It just happens. Should the main character change the past? Scripture references with study questions follow the end of the story. It was a quick, good read. Thank you to book fun.org for this eBook. My opinion is my own.
The book had a neat story line, but the author didn't execute some major details correctly. The two main characters for instance, met and instantly love each other and are bonded. I know that happens plenty in real life, but the way it was written in this book just wasn't real. It was awkward, stepford wife-ish... I felt like walking away from the book.
I hope Amanda Tru will continue writing and improve her skills. I love where mind goes and where she wants to take her readers, I just think she left huge amounts of detail out that are necessary for a good book.
WOW! What an amazing start to this series. Yesterday hits the ground running and doesn't let up. This isn't your typical romantic suspense story... The time-travel aspect is brilliant! Amanda Tru has created a cast of memorable characters... I love Hannah & Seth! I cannot wait to see how the story will end up....must read more, now!
Hannah's yesterday is five years ago for everyone else. Why is she time traveling? Is it okay that she changed the past? Is it going to happen again? Can she survive if it does? This is a great time travel story, with great characters. It pulled me in quickly and kept me reading. This is the first book in the series and has a cliffhanger at the end. Now to get the sequel!
This is the last book in my A-Z Challenge (yes, I'm aware it is only Y, but I'm trying not to buy more books until I have finished all the ones I already have, lol).
What I found interesting about this time travel book is that the time travel is not instantaneous. What I mean, is that when Hannah finds herself back in time, the timeline she left continues so to those around her it looks like she has run away or left. It also means that she ages at the correct rate for her personal timeline, rather than living life in the past, coming back to the present/future and have aged for no reason to her friends and family.
This book is a sweet romance with a time travel twist. I'm not sure whether to class it as Fantasy or SciFi since the time travel is not because of a machine but because of divine intervention?
I did enjoy this book. I liked trying to work out how the stories of the different characters interacted. I liked seeing whether the romance between Hannah and Seth would blossom and how it was impacted due to her changing things in the past. It's a nice book.
This is such a good and exciting book to read. Fast paced and delightful. It would be better without the cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers!
Tru, never waste time in character development, she just plunges you into her stories, instead of gently leads you along. She pushed you head first with an evil delightful laugh! She knows how to capture her readers, entertains them then WACK! She leave you with the dreadful cliffhanger!
Yes, read this series. Read it when you can leisure around and get lost in her stories. Then buy the rest of the series, or you’ll be furious until that next book is in your library. Remember the dreaded, horrible, evil cliffhanger.
I was hooked by page one and plowed through it quickly. Overall enjoyed the twists and turns of it and the mystery of why she time traveled and what was going to happen. I appreciated Hannah’s character which was timid in nature and had an anxiety towards driving especially other people driving (I can relate). Despite this she had to step out of her comfort zone in circumstances that were out of her control. I think that points back to how God can use even the timid to do things they otherwise wouldn’t think possible
Just a few things that I thought a little off *Spoiler*
Hannah and Seth’s relationship seemed a bit forced and superficial. Although he doted on her and was very affectionate, I feel a key bonding moment was lacking. However still loved them as they worked together through the book.
Even though not completely on board with God using time travel I liked how the author used the circumstances to point back to having faith in His provision and working through the unknown; having to completely trust God in all things.
Overall loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

After reading part of Gabrielle Meyer’s Timeless series, i was really excited for another time traveling type book/series. Overall, I enjoyed the story. There were a lot of good ideas and it was well executed. I actually loved every aspect of the story dealing specifically with time traveling. Where I got caught up and the reason for my three stars is simply that I didn’t connect with most of the characters. I felt like the characters had no depth and I had a hard time getting past how easily everyone just believed her time traveling tales. It was all non-chalant as if it was the most common thing in the world. Honestly, I was not a huge fan of Seth.

This book jumped right into the action, and then into time travel, but in a way I’ve never read about before. Lots of different aspects and unknowns about her time travel and changes to history that made this story a quick and fun read. Each of these books are shorter than normal novels so the story moved along quickly. I appreciated that it spoke of their faith and how God created her ability as a blessing.
This is the first book I've read by Amanda Tru. I fell in love with this story and read it in 4 hours. I've read many books where the cliff-hanger at the end is too much, or not enough. This one...perfect. Nicely done Amanda Tru.
Not everyone can write time travel as “believable”. The twists and turns of Yesterday kept me engaged to the last page - and I already bought book 2 in the series. Thanks, Amanda, for this Christian time travel journey.
This was a great time travel romance being as short as it was. I enjoyed it enough to continue the series. The romance was cute, the faith was good, and the time travel idea was simple. It is 100% clean, only kissing, and I would recommend it to 13 and up.
Interesting plot. Didn't love the love story as it was way too rushed. Weird editing errors, is it McAlister, or McAllister? If you're not going to remember, choose a different name. Will probably try the next in the series, but hoping to find some other engaging time travel stories.
