Explore the charming video-game world of Sugar Rush, from Disney Animation Studio's latest film, "Wreck-It-Ralph." This jacketed picture book features an original story about the film's spunky heroine, Vanellope von Schweetz, as well as illustrations by one of the artists who worked on the film.
This is one of my son’s favorite books! We’ve never seen the movie so I can’t relate it to that, but it is a very fun, uplifting story about simplicity and not giving up. The biggest downfall for me is the font in this book. It was quite difficult for me to read given all of the wave-like writing and non-traditional font. I frequently stumble on words (even though I’ve read it probably 100 time) and it’s made it difficult to teach my now 5 year old to read using this book (which is a bummer since he loves it so much!) For the actual story, it’s worth the buy, but beware that you might stumble on your words trying to read it!
RANCIS IS A BOY? I thought all the Sugar Racers were girls!
Rancis hasn't won a Sugar Rush Cup, so he sells all his stuff to buy a new cart, but it goes a little haywire. Then President Vanellope (this taking place after the movie, apparently) helps him build his own from wild/salvaged materials.
I love the art style on this, and I'm super excited that they put out a book that goes off the main storyline and uses some of the side characters.
This side story (post wreck-it, pre-breaks the internet) takes all the fun Candyland aspects of Sugar Rush and shines the light on a different underdog racer in need of a sweet ride. The preschooler and I were both delighted by the illustrations and the vroom vroom.
This was a cute spin off in the Wreck it Ralph series. I like how they made Penelope the President or the sugar rush race. The illustrations were spot on! I wish Ralph would have been involved but it was still interesting!
Difficult to read this book on the kindle phone app. Perhaps it could be optimized? Otherwise creative replacement wording for familiar sweet products.
An all new story for lovers of the first Pixar film. A bit odd to go so in depth with a side-character we really didn't get to know in the movie. Cute premise and darling illustrations.
If you loved/obsessed over the Wreck it Ralph movie, you sure don't want to miss this cute little picture book! So adorable, and it includes my favourite racer, Rancis! The illustrations are beautifully done and even though it was short, this book was super sweet!
