"My story is something I like to share with others, to show people that with enough belief in yourself and what you can accomplish, anything is possible."—Justin Bieber From Tel Aviv to Tokyo, over the past few years I've traveled around the world and back again. It's been amazing, but it's also hard to believe that not so long ago I was singing on the streets of Stratford, Ontario. I can honestly say that anything is possible, anyone can live the dream, and every day is a blessing. Now everywhere I go, I'm met with so much love. It's all about you, my fans, and that's why I'm dedicating my book to everyone who's come to sing along. I want to share the stories of my life on the road with you. From the crazy highs of performing on stage to spending those precious quiet moments with my friends and family, I want to give you a personal backstage pass to my world. It's been exhausting but always eye-opening and amazing. It's astonishing to think that so much has happened, and yet this is just the beginning. I'm just getting started.
Justin Drew Bieber is a Canadian pop-R&B singer. Bieber was discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun, who happened across Bieber's videos on YouTube and later became his manager. Braun arranged for him to meet with Usher in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bieber was soon signed to Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and then to a recording contract with Island Records offered by L.A. Reid.
Justin is not only an inspiration to me and others but he is so much more, and I was excited when he announced this book. I was going though a really rough time when his first, First Step 2 Forever (which I definitely recommend), came out and whenever I felt like breaking down I would just pull it out and read a piece. It literally kept me from going insane during that time. Anyway, because of that I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. I read it in two hours, not once putting it down. It was very, very good, though I do still prefer First Step 2 Forever. I am a hardcore fan, ask me anything about him and I can give you an answer instantly, so I knew about 95% of the things that were in Just Getting Started, where in First Step 2 Forever I learned so much more about him. Which is the only negative thing about it; I wish he had put more things no one knew about him in it. But I still enjoyed it, and I recommend it to everyone!
I just stumbled with more Justin Bieber books. WASN'T ENOUGH WITH THE FIRST? How more money do you pretend to gain? Oh my god, I'm literally about to break something. This is too much I just can't take it. BIEBER RELATED TO SEVERAL BOOKS.
While thousands of new and probably amazing authors out there wait to be published and get their stories to be known, this comes out. I'm sure the cultural value of this must be so high that there are no words to discribe it, right?
He's about twenty years old, right? Do you have that much story to tell about? Apparently not, as there's also a book about your mom's story. Oh, well, I'm sure that must be insteresting as hell.
I give up guys, I can't fight with marketing and maniac fangirls all over the world. This "book" is destined to have almost 5 fudging freaking stars and I... I simply quit. And I'm sure some authors would consider doing the same (Hell, no, please... Write! I'll read you, I swear!).
My story is something I like to share with others, to show people that with enough belief in yourself and what you can accomplish, anything is possible." - Justin Bieber
...and this is why I look up to Justin and why he's my favorite. Other people may say, you only like him for his looks, he's just another product!, he's so ovverated!. Well, excuse me if I buy his albums and songs just to listen to his face.
Anyway, I didn't expect Justin to write another book after First Step 2 Forever and after I hearing that there was another book of his that was going to be released, I could not contain my excitement.
Reading through the book was there never a moment where I wouldn't feel much more inspired. He has worked very hard to get to where he is right now. He has never let his haters bring him down. He has never let a thing get in the way of striving to be the best, and these are the reasons why I look up to Justin Bieber, the kid who is always labeled as a "manufactured pop star", "the kid who sings like a girl" and all other names that can be possibly worse, and he is also definitely one who motivates and inspires people to never give up and just keep going. After all these hate that was being brought to him, you don't see him backing down. Likewise, he's definitely not like the other pop celebrities out there. He's totally different.
Another thing I really like is that we get to see more of his personal side. Justin talks about what he thinks of the media, all the controversy, the paparazzi.etc and going through the pages, I can strongly sympathize with him and really get to know the real Justin, that person who really is like any other normal teenager out there despite all the attention and hate y'know? I'm sorry if this is going to sound so dramatic and exaggerated but I must add that really, being a HUGE Belieber myself, reading the book made me feel as if I just had a personal conversation with him, as if I got to know more about the real Justin behind all the madness, the attention, the media...
Ah, yes! In the book, he even mentioned the city I live in. I was literally trying to keep my cool as he talked about how he had so much fun walking around the streets of Hong Kong and other stuff during the last few days after performing. It makes me so happy to know that he actually noticed my country, even at the very least, LOL.
Okay, not only was I truly inspired but I couldn't even hold back tears as I read about the pranks during the tour. One Less Lonely Boy? Seriously?
And I must mention some of my favorite quotes not only from Justin himself but also Scooter Braun, who is his manager and also like a real brother to him...
You can do anything if you put your mind to it-just look at me. The harder you work, the more successful you can be...
Let's keep doing what we do, and together we can keep the dream going.
You'll never know something unless you try. The only way you'll find out something is to fail, because you only need one success to be successful. - Scooter Braun
I want to be successful and be great at what I do. I want to be the best. And in order to do that, I have to work as hard as I can, be good to people and treat them with respect
If we only do the stuff we're good at, we never learn anything new.
I want every one of my fans to feel like they're helping out the world in some way. And being the one to influence them to do that, that's something positive I can do with what God's given me.
A lot of people have asked me why I chose "Believe" as the title for my new album. I purposely leave that open for everyone's own interpretation-for what ever they want to make of it. "Believe" can be about what you believe in, whether it is yourself, someone else, your relationship, God, or some type of a higher power. The title is also about believing in me and in us...
I am a huge fan of Justin Bieber and i love him with all my heart. This autobiography made me realize how much he loves to be a celebrity, but also needs time to be a normal 18 year old. In this book, he really opened up about his personal life and told you what tour life is really about. I love Justin Bieber and i will forever be a belieber.
I wrote this when I reviewed Justin's first book and I feel the need to point this out again (because everything I'm going to write from this point on will sound as if I am a hater), but I really like this little dude. He was an adorable kid, now he's a handsome young man and a charismatic performer who's songs I enjoy more often than not. Anyway, I read both of his books and saw his documentary, so cut me some slack, huh? Now, let's get down to it. First of all, the book should have been properly titled "DREAMY: Is what I am". Same as the first one, this book carries a strong positive message and is a great read for any teenager who is too young to know what a life coach or a motivational speaker is. But realistically, this is nothing more than a genius platform for advertising. Why genius? Because normally advertising/spam is free, but in this case you are buying it yourself. Brilliant. The book is strongly promoting his albums, singles, movie (all highlighted in italics for your convenience), twitter and even perfume. It also covers the entire spectrum of public relations, such as his charity work; his courage (going to Japan after the horrible events of 2011); how he takes care of his family and the lavish presents he spoils them with; how he reaches out to help other artists (i.e. Carly) and etc. All commendable things that truly deserve to be recognized and celebrated, but not by the person himself in his own book. You do a good deed and others note your kind heart - that's your cue to make a humble face and go "Ah, it was nothing" and gloat inside, while OTHERS feed your ego. Patting yourself on the back can rub some people the wrong way. Having said all that, I realize that humbleness is not the key to successful marketing and P.R. I understand that this book was carefully crafted by Justin's branding team and he had little to do with it's content, so I applaud them because this is a fine piece of work. Even though I criticized the fact that they try to promote his philanthropy, I have to give credit where credit is due - they do it tastefully and don't rub your face into it, so in the end you don't feel used. In conclusion, I just wanted to note that we live in an age where promotion and branding is paramount, but I truly doubt that there are few marketing machines as well oiled as this one. I am in awe: so much so that I, even fully comprehending it, became one of it's victims. And why not? He IS good. P.S. I even love the little things. Like them coming up with a name for his fan-base: Beliebers. That is such an awesome and useful tool if you look back at all the Hulkamaniacs who to this day have fond memories of Hulkamania sweeping the nation.
This is my review of the 100% Official Justin Bieber: Just Getting Started biography and boy did boy did he get it started!! This is another smash hit, after his best-selling biography- First Step 2 Forever: My Story.
If you know me, you know I don’t love anything more than Justin Bieber. I was THE first Belieber. I feel like, as someone who has contributed lots of money to his ticket sales, I am highly qualified to review this book.
I basically already knew everything in this book so I was really just reading it for the pictures. I mean, can any wear a pair of skinny leather zipper pants like Justin?! Heck no! And that pouty face… He’s just so yummy-tastic. I can’t believe someone so talented came from Canada!
These are my top 10 highlights from the book: 1. Pictures of Justin’s face. 2. Pictures of Justin’s arms. 3. Pictures of Justin’s hair. 4. Pictures of Justin wearing hats. 5. Pictures of Justin’s shiny teeth. 6. Pictures of Justin’s many accessories. 7. Picture of Mike Tyson. 8. Excellent use of photo filters. 9. Pictures of Justin just being Justin. 10. The choice of font. 11. Behind the scene glimpses of the genius inner workings of Justin. 12. Everything. Okay, I can’t limit it to just 10. The list goes on and on…
Some of the things I could have done without: 1. Pictures of screaming girls (That Should Be Me). 2. The Kardasians (Ew).
This is the perfect book to curl up with on a rainy day or, if you’re sick and sitting around with some chicken noodle soup with a soda on the side. I have a copy in every room in my house and in my Backpack. I feel like every pure-blooded American should own a copy. There is definitely One Less Lonely Girl after reading this book.
As with all my reviews, I would like to end this one with a haiku made of Justin Bieber song titles: Stuck in the Moment I would take you overboard All around the world
I decided to read this book because I am a big fan of Justin Bieber and I really enjoy his autobiographies. I think it's good to get in his mind set and read about his crazy life and what he is thinking going through his career. This book fits on the bingo board in 'A diary, autobiography or biography'. I really enjoy reading biographies because I like reading about celebrities and what they are feeling going through their full on careers and everyday life. It's hard to pick a favourite quote because there were load but I particularly like "Young people in the business have grown up and made the wrong decisions, or bad decisions, and haven't been good role models. To be someone that people look up to is important to me" because I really think Justin is a really good role model, he makes good choices and he gives back. He spends time to visit sick children and donates lots to charity and I think he is a really good person for people to look up to. I learnt from this book to never give up on your dreams and always believe in yourself. My favourite character is Justin because he has come so far with his life and his career. He makes his parents and family so proud and always makes time for them.
Have you ever thought about how it would be like to be famous? This book is the best book that I ever read! It has an inside story about what Justin Bieber’s life is about. It also has all the true facts because Justin Bieber wrote it himself. Most of the time it is about what happened in his life during the “My World” tour and what it was like to be on the road for most of the time. It also has things about how he is just getting started with his fame, that’s why the book is called Just Getting Started. Another thing that I really liked about the book is that it isn’t just a book with facts about him, it is about how he deals with all of the ups and downs of being famous. One thing that would surprise you, if you didn’t know is that he almost burnt all of his mom’s hair off! I can’t tell you why, but if you read this book you will find a lot of interesting/weird things that he has done before. I would recommend this mostly to beliebers. If you just asked yourself, “what is a belieber” then you might not want to read this. If you were like, “I am totally a belieber” then this is the correct book for you. Even if you don’t like Justin Bieber that much I still think that you should read this because it will show you that he is just like us!
At what point does whitewash cease to exhibit any qualities of mass or thickness or translucence? At what point does it register that Donald Trump "saying what he means" is a non sequitur given that he says nothing at all? How meaningful is the trite platitude "follow your dreams" in a culture where it is plastered on sippy cups and flows out every programmed zombie mouth on TV, and where its inherent goodness as a concept is unquestioned? Charles Manson and Jeffrey Dahmer and Kenneth Lay and Bernie Madoff all followed their dreams. Can I get a collective cutesy "awww ..." from the audience for that?
Was the moment I sensed that cotton candy was really not very good because there was really nothing to it -- nothing to grasp onto -- the most profound revelation of my life, or, at least, the moment I began to question all things that by a certain outward appearance or via propaganda had substance but which actually did not? Certainly, the Santa Claus thing didn't help.
These thoughts crossed my overburdened brain in confronting this book, in which an endless string of press agentry wisp tries to pass for an autobiography of Justin Bieber. Whenever he isn't talking about following his dreams, or working very hard (and boy, does he work hard; he says so, a lot), or how he and his fans are one in the Om-osphere, or skateboarding, or meeting lots of famous peers (of President Obama, we learn that "he's a nice man." Watch out, Doris Kearns Goodwin), or about how he's just a golly gee willikers normal kid named Justin. Unless all those news reports are mistaken, I might take a cockeye to that aw-shucksness.
Now, unlike Mr. Bieber, let me exhibit some honesty. Truth is, I really needed his book, because I was lacking enough entries for my "written with a potato" shelf, and as this book has appeared on several "worst books" lists, I figured it might do the trick. Reading it, I can clearly see that it is written with a potato, or, at least, an earthy yam, when it aspires to rise to a sophomoric level it can't quite achieve.
One of my favorite moments in the book has a picture of Justin with a cancer kid and the caption, "It's so important for me to give back to others" ..."like when I gave Selena Gomez that STD.")
Oh, wait, sorry, my bad. That last part of the quote was mine. Strike that.
But yeah, it's that kind of book. Rife for snarky retort and probably the basis for a fatal new college drinking game. Name any showbiz PR platitude in existence and you'll find enough examples here to waste yourself into alcoholic oblivion.
The best part of the book is not written by Bieber, but by his manager, Scooter Braun, particularly a passage where the "elder" tries to school his young charge on how to sustain a long career rather than be a flash in the pan. The exemplar he cites toward this goal is Michael Jackson. Where can I even begin? "Let's, Justin, make you the Titanic...but this time make the ship sail longer before dramatically scuttling." Maybe we could use Bill Cosby as a good template, too.
Reading the teenie girl reviews of this book on here is quite amusing. I'm sure that in these times of Instagram and Facebook Justin's magnum opus is the War and Peace of its type.
Lest you think I'm shooting Canadian fish in a barrel...well, I am...
Anyway, all I know is that reading something written by a potato turned this reader into, at least temporarily, a potato head. Pass the butter. But leave the cotton candy.
The book JUST GETTING STARTED written by Justin Bieber, is about Justin's life story. This book is an autobiography and really expresses how Justin feels being in the music business. The music business is hard and being so popular, just like Justin is very hard. One of the hardest struggles for Justin is the paparazzi. The paparazzi don't care about trampling Justin or any one in his crew. All they want is the pictures of Justin to make up some story about him to get money. Justin explains in this book how frustrating this is for him. One time his friends came to a concert of his to see him perform, and his friends were going skateboarding before the concert. When Justin said can I go, his friends told him no because they did not want a lot of attention drawn to them. When Justin told his manager Scooter about this, he was very disappointed in the whole situation because he thought that it was not right for a boy Justin's age to stay inclosed all the time. So, Scooter went out side and told all of Justin's fans not to bother Justin or take pictures, just let him do his thing. The fans agreed and when Justin came out to skateboard every thing was great. Justin was so happy that his fan were so nice and respectful of him and his privacy. I loved this part of the book because I thought that it was well written and said in Justin's words. I would recommend this book to everyone because, everyone thinks Justin is just this huge superstar that is full of himself. This book proves everyone wrong by telling stores about how Justin isn't full of him self and is a normal person just like everyone else. He just lives a different life style.
For young adult but also grown bieber fan I read the book biograohy/ autobiography Justin Bieber: Just getting started. The book feature personal entries from Justin and publisher information details. The books talks about the life of Justin Bieber, how his success and fame is beyond what he imagined. His career is rocketing around the world and said that he is just getting started. He appreicates all the success that he has gained but feel their is plenty of things he would like to do. With the new book he brings up challenges he has faced like scandal "Baby Daddy Drama" and his image to society. In the book he stays very positive and make sure that everyone understands that he is human, not perfect. I really like this book because I think it is inspiring for the reading. Most of the chapters and about believing in yourself and making your dreams come true. Another important chapter to me is talks about his support. He has lots of fans aroundthe world but he has the most of his support from his family. They stay by his side and encourage him to be the best at what he does. Also he said that having such a close relationship with his family keeps him down to earth and remember where he comes from.
I couldn't put it down, each chapter was so beautiful and it was obvious he put his heart and soul into it i love him so much and when i read this beautiful creation it just makes me love him even more ( if thats even possbile). anyway the point is if your a belieber or a person looking for a window to someones life heres the key take it away!
This book reminded me of why I love Justin so much, why I am so proud of him and why he is my idol. I've been by his side since day 1 and it's crazy to see how much his career has grown and how much he has grown as a person. I truly believe that this book can convert haters into beliebers even if I don't know how anyone can hate this kid in the first place. He has such a big heart and is so dedicated. He works so hard to be the best he can be and to make his fans happy. I love how he is so thankful for his fans and shows it more than anyone I've seen. He understands that we, the fans, have control because if we stop buying his stuff, going to concerts and stop supporting him, he will have nothing. I also love how he is able to acknowledge his fame and the effect he has on people while not letting it get to his head. He is still humble, so down to earth and always makes time for his family and friends. He is still a kid at heart but at the same time, he is mature and serious about what he does. I definitely think that this is a must read for anyone. In the book Scooter says: ''For a kid who has achieved as much as he has, it is amazing how much he is doubted'' which I totally agree with. For the doubters out there, keep doubting because you are his motivators. Like Justin said, he isn't going anywhere. Period. I will forever be a belieber and I recommend this book to everyone! Love you, Justin<3
I just love reading about Justin's life. It really interests me of what hes been doing as an artist. I think he's done so much for his fans, and Im just so blessed to be his number one fan. He's just that amazing.
Seeing him perform is probably one of the best feelings ever, he really knows how to connect with you when he sings. I cant tell you how sick I am with all these haters hating him. It really makes me mad. Why? cause everytime I hear someone say '' Justin Bieber sucks.. he has no talent' really makes me wanna punch them in the face. They don't know how hard he worked to get himself into this music world. They just dont know shit.
First things first: I LOVE Justin Bieber, always have, always will. This book made me feel so many emotions and I loved them all. He inspires me and has since day one. His songs get me through so many different battles and since I have congenital heart disease, I battle things a lot. I will never forget the first day I listened to Justin Bieber's "One Time" on YouTube and I completely fell in Love. This book lets you see back stage into his life and his work. He truly loves all of his beliebers and has from the start. I could talk about how much I love Justin Bieber for a million years and it still wouldn't be enough. BELIEBER FOREVER!!! Megan Rathbun aka: Mrs.Bieber;)
I bought this book around 3 PM today, started reading it at 5 PM today, finished the book at 10 PM today. The first page of the book got me hooked. I love him not only as a musician, but much more than that, I can't actually write it down here. I got the last book on the store, which I am VERY glad. I loved every word from the book, I love him. If you are not the biggest fan of him, meaning you hate/dislike without a reason/stupid reasons, I recommend you to read this because this book is AMAZING.
LOVE IT. BEST BOOK EVER <333 btw the pictures are sexy.
there's are times I cried, and I got mad because Justin deserves his privacy and when he would think that he didn't want to be famous anymore broke my Heart. but the happy moments were amazing :) justin deserves all the happiness in the world, I love him so so so so much & I love experiencing his journey with him <3
im a belieber so i love him.but i just got the book for christmas and it was awesome.also i felt sorry for pattie when her hair set on fire. i have also read patie mallette's story and that is great too,she explained it in full detail, and for you beliebers it has also got a foreword in it written by justin bieber so yeah i reallly realllly loved the book:)
This book really shows Justin's side of himself, himself about his personal life, and his singing life. It really brings the reader what he does, and how he feels. Really emotional book. Really awesome.
I love the book matter of fact I love the book so much I read it twice. And to all the haters Justin is a nice guy and likes to help others he is just under a lot of pressure of being a celebrity. so before people judge him they need to know him
I was not a big Justin Bieber fan before I started this book…. I am now less of a Justin Bieber fan. I can honestly say there was not a single part of this book I enjoyed. Sorry Lei I guess I’m not a #BELIEBER 😞
Okay honestly I loved this book…however it was written by an 18 year old kid and you can tell. Learned some cool facts that I didn’t know (didn’t think that would happen tbh), overall I enjoyed it, glad I’m read it, but won’t read it again:) #Belieber4L
