I have a few minor questions that the author did not answer completely but this is a masterful work exposing the movement to return the earth to a state untouched by man. Much has to do with the belligerence of the "Island Trust" group, in control of the gulf island in the Strait of Georgia, between Vancouver and Vancouver Island on Canada's west coast. This book exposes and provides details of the efforts of radical environmentalists to drive residents out of rural areas into cities where they can be more easily controlled. There are many nonsensical and onerous rules and regulations concerning the use of one's private property. The Wildlands Project seeks to provide a corridor for wild animals by removing people and "restoring wilderness". This is an important book to read. She chronicles her difficulties dealing with the local trust of the islands where she wants to develop her property, and how their environmental regulations make this difficult. The author stated on page xiv that the title “Eco-Fascists” was not intended “…as a banner to grab attention…”, but that’s what made me take it down from the bookstore shelf. The language sometimes seemed purposefully inflammatory without conveying any useful information. The myriad of stories were difficult to follow and made the book seem disjointed.
