This was short, intense but deeply satisfying piece of dark erotica.
It's a story of true love at first sight.
Leah is an American girl on holiday in Pattaya, Thailand. She’s recently split from her Dom when she found out he had a secret wife and kids that he’d failed to mention. Devin is an English property dealer on business in the Far East. They meet on the beach and there is an instant and deep attraction. They spend the night together in D/s heaven – both of them realising they have forged a very special connection. Devin leaves Leah sleeping in bed the next morning as he has a business meeting with a note on the pillow arranging to meet later.
That is the last he sees of her – Leah, excited about their date, goes out shopping and gets abducted and plunged right into sexual slavery. What follows is really not for some – she is submitted to some fairly intense sexual torture and humiliation. Be warned. She endures - it is her natural submissive masochistic nature that helps her deal with the pain unleashed on her.
Everyone tries to convince Devin that Leah has just carried on with her vacation and moved on but he refuses to believe this – he believes that something very special has passed between them and refuses to believe that she has just left and feels strongly that she is in trouble. This book is very close to a 5 star read for me. I loved the characters in particular and, of course, capture fantasy plots are very high on my list of must reads. This one was wonderful.
Leah is a heroine to relate to, she is strong, sensible and very tuned into her own needs as a masochist and sexual submissive. This story brings sharp clarity to the difference between consensual submission and non consensual. Devin wasn't quite as well filled out as to his character, but well enough that the ending was very satisfying, as to their relationship.
I don't want to give anything away, but I highly recommend this erotic capture fantasy romance to those who enjoy the genre. It isn't overly graphic as to punishments - in fact it could have been a little more descriptive IMO (I must be getting tougher in my old age! ;p). My only real complaint is the lack of information about what happens to the "bad guys" and some of the other captives mentioned throughout. I guess this is another area where I would have liked more description of some well deserved comeuppances! *evil grin* ;)

Someone has other plans. Leah is drugged and is thrown into a situations where she never thought she'd find herself. Sex trafficking. She is tortured for the four days she is a captive. Unknown pain is inflicted on her but with her training as a sub she is able to block some of the pain out.
Devin knows hes found this sub and doesnt want to lose her but she doesnt show up for their date. It puts him instantly on alert and he wants to take action.
I was a bit surprised that out of all the ppl to kidnap they pick Leah. It wasnt like she was alone, not that she had to be but she was with a group of ppl that would miss her. Seemed kinda stupid on the captors part but thats how it played out and i guess the authorities wouldnt have gotten involved had they not done such a dumb thing.
This had a feel of the movie Taken with Liam Nelson. It had a nice HEA.

This is a very compelling book by Claire Thompson. Devin and Leah meet and have a great night together, connecting through their shared kink. unfortunately, their second night doesn't happen.
This is a dark tale of kidnaping, abuse, forced submission by sex traffickers and a slave owner. But Devin knows she didn't leave of her own accord. He is tenacious, driven, and passionate about finding Leah and she prays that he will. This book drew me in from start to finish. Well done!!

An interesting plot line where I greatly respected the heroine, Leah for her courage and logical sense during a harrowing experience. I appreciate how she recognized her captor for the (albeit attractive) immoral megalomaniac he was.
But something was off on the whole beat of this story. It's didn't harmonize, and I found myself skimming through large sections of the book.
Not a bad story though, and entertaining if you're looking for a shorter, darker read.

This book, as ever with Claire crafted expertly, takes us in a roller-coaster of willing and unwilling submission, and explores dark areas of sensuality without any crudity. While Leah's sudden plunge into slavery is shocking, I particularly liked tthey way in which the story transmutes back into senual, willing submission without apology, but acceptance.I could have wished, perhaps that Leah's character had been a bit deeper:Devlin however was believable and attractive.

This was a shorter length story but did not lack for anything. There was the love at first sight D/s relationship between Leah and Devin, followed by the brutality of her time in captivity. I would have liked to see more of their time together before she was kidnapped. The scenes when she was held captive were intense and well-written.

A good story about a submissive woman who has just met her perfect Dom, but gets abducted and enslaved by an Arab prince. So it combines consensual bdsm with nonconsensual bdsm, making for an interesting and arousing conflict.

This was a great story, with a romance situated before and after the horror of the situation. The resilience of both our hero and heroine from one encounter made the story. The ability to stay positive and keep their wits about them, comenable. That they stuck it out for the HEA, brillant!

i really enjoyed this story. just the right amount of tension in it. and paced at the right speed to keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know whats gonna happen next. will he find her in time? will she survive or will she go crazy or worse before she is rescued?

An enjoyable read! Kind of on the tame same for the subject matter of human trafficking / sex slaves and in the end the H/h get their HEA.
