Pickup and Leave

Bill and Tommy have been best friends for years and lovers for a little over a month. Spending every night together under the stars in Bill's pickup truck has gotten them through some tough times, but it's not enough anymore. Both men know that the time has come to leave their small-town existence and build a better life together somewhere more accepting. They decide that they'd better make their last night in their hometown memorable so they have something good to look back on after they go.

Short, but very hot story about two men who have recently taken the step from being best friends to lovers. They are clearly still in the ‘honeymoon phase’ of their physical relationship and experimenting with what each of them like. Whether or not they will manage to leave the stifling environment of their home town is up in the air – it has been for quite a while - and coming to a decision isn’t easy for them.

Short but touching as two young men, friends in childhood and now lovers, long to ditch their narrow minded, judgmental hick town. We find them in the back of their pick-up wistfully planning their flight, after a little playtime that is. A nice short tale showing us some want more out of life than following in the parents boring footsteps.

It was a good short story. My only problem with this book was that it wasn't longer. I would have liked to know what happened after that night.
