The Only Sparkle is a quick read replete with eerie moments and an eventual laugh-out-loud premise. Kudos to author Matt Hofferth for taking a riduculous romp through the paranormal world while managing more than a few tense moments. The trek to the old house was particularly hair-raising, and when Sally and Mark finally confront the vampire, I swallowed hard. As for hilarity, Hofferth crafts a wholly new twist to explain vampire behavior, and the title can only be understood at the story's conc ...more

Die you sparkly indecisive joke of an apex predator. Not since Memnoch the Devil have I enjoyed a story about vampires.
