The Gambler by Lily Graison
Willow Creek Series Book 3
Tristan Avery was a gambler and good at it. One night of winning not only money but a deed to some land in Idaho changed his life. Not the money or deed but the the little spitfire that felt he had no right to her land. That her stepfather had no right to gamble it away. What else could he do but take her with him when he decided to go home for awhile. Back to where he hadn’t been for nine years, back to where he was told if he left….don’t ret

Tristan

The third brother wins more than he bargained for. What will it take to set things right? It's a good read to find out what's next for Tristan and the rest of the family. Another winner Lily!!!

I seem to always fall in love with Lily Graison characters from their first meeting.

“You’re a girl?”

“I’m a woman, thank you very much.” She straightened her shirt and met his gaze. “And I’d be obliged if you’d get that gun out of my face.”

Tristan won a deed in a poker game. Later on while defending himself he ends up killing the owner of the deed. When he goes to check out the land he won he finds Emmaline in a beat up shack and was the one who tried robbing him of the

The third Willow Creek book didn't not let me down. Just as great as The Lawman and The Outlaw. All the characters in the book come alive for me and I love them all.

Emmaline Hunt has a drunk for a stepfather who has just gambled away a piece of land which holds a secret which only she knows. It was her land and she wants it back. The only way to get the land back is to steal the land deed from Tristan Avery.

Tristan Avery is a gambler who knows its time to lay low when another gambler ends up dea

Tristan is the youngest Avery boy and left home at 17 to pursue his career in gambling. Okay, so he didn't really leave, his dad told him to leave until he pursued respectable pursuits.

Emmaline has been left to fend for herself on her land for years. Her stepfather brings supplies every once in a while, but she has had to do everything else. She was always short on supplies and food, and her male neighbours took advantage of her situation when she ran out and came to them for help

This was the first book I've read in this series. I like western romance and I'm so glad I got introduced to this author...'cause she does western romance right. The description of rural life in the old west is believably authentic and made me feel like a witness right there alongside the characters in the story. Emmaline was in such a tough predicament when she met Tristan and their backgrounds were so different that at first it was hard to figure how they would become a couple...but become a c ...more

The story line had potential to be fantastic, but instead the author choses to focus on "bedding" the couple instead of developing a beautiful relationship and adding more detail and depth to the story. The characters could have been wonderful, instead they were mediocre and boring, because all they did was lust after one another. It's a nice bedtime read... because I don't have to focus on anything or invest any emotional energy into the storyline and characters. It's not a book that I can't pu ...more

After winning a land deed in a card game, Tristan wakes in the middle of the night to find Emmaline attempting to steal the land deed. After visiting his new property he finds Emmaline in a rickity shack, alone, and half starved. Since the property is now his responsibility, he assumes responsibility of Emmaline. After dragging her across the country for her own good, she manages to steal the land deed back and tries to get back home.

Lily Graison writes such an enjoyable story. They keep me interested from start to finish. Her characters are strong, and are everything I love and expect in an American West Romance. My only complaint, is that I wish a could read more of this couples story.
I highly recommend this book for your collection.
