This book was aimed at a much younger age group, so it was a little uninteresting to me. However, it had a lot of great tips! This book is packed with great tips on simple care for everything from home-made manicures and pedicures, to ways to shave properly. The book asks readers to find the positive aspects to any flaw they have, and to embrace it instead. It's a great book for any young girl!

The Lily Series, written by popular author Nancy Rue, is a series written for girls ages 7-11, and stars Lily Robbins and her friends as they grow and discover that the most important beauty is the true beauty God put inside each of them. The Beauty Book is a companion book to the fictional series that starts off with Here's Lily! Each chapter deals with a different aspect of beauty, from the first chapter that appropriately assures girls that God made each girl exactly the way He intends them t ...more

In my thirties, I am definitely not the target audience for Nancy Rue's The Beauty Book. Described by the publisher as being for ages 7-11, this cute, quick read is decidedly written for a preteen audience. However, in reading to review the book, I found myself remembering what it was like being an awkward 10-year-old girl. The Beauty Book would have been a fun read for me at that age. I would quibble a bit with giving this book to a 7-year old (we're talking second grade here, folks). I can't t ...more

As a mom with two daughters I’m always on the look out for books that inspire godly beauty and Biblical insights into being a girl. The Beauty Book is definitely one of those books that I’m glad to be able to share with my girls. My daughters are 10 and 7 and as they get older they are struggling to find out who they are and who they are supposed to be according to God – and having this book along side us while studying the Bible is exactly what we need. I’m not saying I agree with everything in ...more

This is a great read for all ages. It helps show you that God loves us no matter what we look like, or what the "IN" look is. It gives great quotes from the bible proving their points in this book.

My daughter wants to re-read this already and I thought it was a good read.

It tells of many different aspects that everyone should think about.

Lily has learned that we should be proud of the gifts God gave us whether it be red hair or large lips. He has made us in his image. He has given us these body to care for. Our bodies are temples of God.

The Lily series for girls 7-11 years old is not only inspiring but pure fun. This Beauty Book is a great addition to the series. It is somewhat of a activity workbook. A companion journal would be good with this book. I raised four daughters and this would be a fun book to share with girlfriends

This non-fiction book discusses beauty inside and out. This book gives simple, honest advice to young girls and teaches them how to accept and love themselves just the way they are.

Scripture quotations are frequently used throughout the book to re-enforce the messages illustrated by the author and the fun magazine style quizzes are prefect for getting the point across.

Although the idea behind this book is great and I liked the positive message it carried I'm not sure the layout would be appealin

I love this book, I think this is the perfect book for a pre-teen girl. It gives young girls simple and good advice on how to take care of themselves. This book stresses how important it is to be happy and content with who you are and what you do have. Not to see other girls and compare yourself to them and only to see how the other girl is better than you are. It plainly tells girls not to get caught up in the comparison game, since after all we are all different. You get information and advise ...more

I like the book. It made me remembers all the things I used to do or wear when I was a kid/tween. I love to wear anything that I think will make look pretty and nice without concerning what others would say. Let say that my taste in fashion or clothes is not as fantastic as my piles of books!

I admit that the book is more related to Christians according to Bible. However, I believe that every religion has their own belief and this book actually quoted some from the Bible which I'm not really fami
