When Ben Rider finds his childhood imaginary friend, Trinity, in his kitchen, he knows something isn't right. Trinity hasn't changed a bit. He still has three personas: cowboy, pirate, and private eye. He still smells of chocolate, and he still has a habit of massaging his earlobe.
Ben is trying to keep his video game development business alive and finalise a deal with an American games publisher, while keeping his disintegrating marriage together. Now, with the reappearance of his imaginary friend, he has his sanity to worry about too.
Trinity claims he has come back to help Ben sort out his life and guide him to his destiny. But over the days that follow, Ben's life goes haywire, and it looks like he might meet his destiny sooner than he thinks. Thanks to Trinity, Ben will have a restaurant collapse on top of him, be seduced and later shot at by a Welsh femme fatale, meet someone else's imaginary friend, and lose both a wife and an ex-wife. But will he find his destiny, or is Trinity's real reason for returning, something else entirely?
I was lucky to have a bit of a lazy afternoon, so I started this book. I was very lucky to get this copy from the author! I wasn't sure at first if its the kind of book I would love to read, not much of a chit lit kinda gal. I was mistaken though, as this isn't really chit lit, its a little suspense, bit of love, and great humour.
The word TRINITY three in one, really good and apt title I thought. The imaginary friend smelling of chocolate, I think every woman would like one of them!! sniff sniff......
Oh did I mention it has a bit of crime in there too? Its a well rounded read and I enjoyed it more, much more than I thought I would [sorry Patrick LOL] I had read the blurb, and he did say, only if its something you might be interested to read. I am so glad I took him up on the offer though, I thoroughly enjoyed it and made a good read following on from my previous one.
I was laughing whilst reading, didn't realize I was, until my daughter said "what's so funny" so of course, she is inline to read this now.
Well written Patrick, and looking forward to many more.
This book was a jolly good read. It hooked me in from the start, and kept me entertained until the very end. The plot takes a few unexpected twists and turns, and you never know entirely what to expect next. The humour is top-notch - from the bumbling male lead whose thoughts intersect perfectly with his tongue for much entertainment value. Ben is quite likeable, but at times you just want to slap some sense into him. Trinity himself is as entertaining an imaginery friend you could ever hope to have - with his cowboy, pirate and private eye, each has a distinctive personality. This is a rollicking good read, with a healthy mix of humour and tension and a satisfying conclusion. But I still want to slap Ben a little for some of his decisions.
I adored this book. The writing is excellent. The book has been well-edited. It has everything a good book should have: Humor, Romance, Suspense, and plenty of Action. I laughed out loud many times while reading. I love the character, Trinity, who appears as a cowboy, pirate and PI. Mr. Fox gives us two main characters, Ben and Bonnie, who are easy to relate to. They're not perfect, but they have very likeable qualities. Then there is the cast of other characters that make the book come to life. I highly recommend this book.
enjoyed this book a lot. Didn't think it would be as funny because the cover struck me as a Western, but it's similar to my favourite genre - chick lit!
