Didn’t read the screenplay, but just watched the movie. One of the bleakest and most upsetting films I’ve ever watched, and I’ve seen a lot of dark stuff. The screenplay is definitely super strong, though it’s Tim Roth’s direction, the dreary cinematography and the realistic, passionate performances that really bring it to life (though “death” feels like a more fitting word than “life” in this case). I’m really intrigued to read the source novel, which was written by the same guy.
