This book was not at all what I expected. The reading level was much higher than expected and wasn’t really suitable for young readers. The chapters were lengthy and not very attention getting soit was a slow read. It was an ok book, but not for my audience.

I like Paddington, I enjoy the complications that ensue every time he tries to help, and I like how things always do work out in the end. That said, what is this family thinking bringing a bear into their house? At first reading this I wondered why they would put up with the trouble this bear causes, then I realized, he is a bear. He can't help being a bear. Why do they expect a bear to be able to adapt to living in a house? Silly humans.
