In today's thrifty times it is seems right to re-use fabrics and buttons and customize old clothes rather than buying brand new ones. The Buttonbag book is packed with instruction and ideas on how to re-use, re-cycle and re-create fantastic things, thereby transforming old into new. There are about 40 step-by-step projects for a range of items including items for the home, clothes and accessories for all ages plus patterns, templates and basic techniques. Illustrated with photographs and hand-painted illustrations, the emphasis is on simple, easy-to-make items with a twist.
I LOVE my craft books but can't get too invested as I already have enough projects to keep me more than busy for the rest of my life. I like the recycling take. I originally got it because I love turning my old shirts into cushions. I also love the book cover handbags and the whale jumpers. This book is for the reduce, resuse and recycle set. It's easy to follow and full of fun ideas. Def a good Christmas present for your home crafter. Again I got it out of the library and I wasn't keen on paying any fines so its been returned but I will get it out again and use it.
loved it, this is a nicely written book to inspire even the laziest potential crafter to make lovely things as gifts.... havent quite got round to it yet but you never know.
If only I was crafty I wail! This is an excellent source of ideas for someone really handy with a needle and a pencil. Sadly I am not. Bummer. The instructions are easy to follow, there are even templates to guide the less than confident, the ideas are cheap and cheerful and they can look brilliant. Its just I'm cackhanded to say the least. Hohum. Be bold, be brave, be brilliant - this book shows you how to do it on a shoestring. Toast
