I find it a little strange to write a review on a book about weight training, but I was quite pleased with this book. I checked out a number of weight training books from the library and not only did this end up being my favorite, but I read it almost from cover to cover. Unlike other Idiot's guides, this didn't sound like it was written by an "idiot". Picutures and tips were helpful. Text was engaging.

I'd never set foot in a gym until a few years ago, so feeling completely bewildered I got this book to help get me oriented to the world of weight training. I feel like it served me pretty well. I wish it had answered more of my questions about topics such as the pluses and minuses of protein powders and how to use them, and the frequent attempts at light-heartedness/humor didn't work too well. I did appreciate the photos that showed exactly how to do various exercises.

This book helped me to correct my form and learn some new strength training moves to add to my list. It answers all of your questions you might not know about working out!
