An archaeological dig in the Colorado badlands is the setting for this entertaining western historical. From Colorado to Boston, a young heiress searches for her true love while trying to follow high society's rules for proper young ladies. She may just find out that she's more naughty than nice!

Mason Donnelly wanders into a fossil expedition in the Colorado badlands, financed by Charles Bertrand Highfill of Boston, when he takes

ok read, liked the story just wished it had more meat to it. fast easy read almost reminded me of the smutty love stories we have all read. Guy is a wanderer falls for a girl and they have a sex based relationship that they know wont last. She is from money and will never be allowed to marry man that is a traveling journalist, greed, secrets and a unveiling of truth....guy gets girl in the end. last 50 pages a story develops and then its over. bummer!

In an effort to expand my Historical Romance horizons, I decided to give Badlands Bride a chance. I had never read a Western before, but it is something I had been curious about. Plus, the description mentions fossil excavation, which is definitely something I find interesting! Luckily, I thoroughly enjoyed my introduction to Western Romance! I'm glad I started with this one instead of a typical cowboy or outlaw one. A struggling journalist and a fossil sketch artists are much interesting to me. ...more

The author draws you in with the characters she has created. Both the hero and heroine are smart, witty and independent. Their conversations and the dynamic between the two really drove this story and was quite entertaining to read.

I was extremely happy that the author chose to make her heroine as feisty and strong as she did. Don’t get me wrong, the character did struggle at times with herself regarding what is deemed proper behavior and what she really wanted to do or say. This is a Western r
I didn't know that when I started reading adult fiction that it would mean I would be reading Adult X-Rated fiction. Ugh. No wonder I stuck with adolescent lit for so long. Am I just choosing the wrong books?

I liked this book well enough. Actually, that's unfair. I ended up totally abandoning my household chores for the few days I was reading it just so I could keep reading it. I thought the descriptions were well done and the story, while basic, was good. I liked the little twist towards the en

I really enjoyed this book – it took me on a surprising journey from the beginning to the end.

Mason Donnelly is a 28 year old reporter who was working for a newspaper. Recently he felt that he had lost his edge and had not been writing up to his usual excellence. He now knows he is not the only one that felt that way as his boss at the newspaper told him to take some time off and recharge. So he ends up in Colorado at an archeological dig that he visited a year ago and wrote an article about, to

I read this book by accident, thinking it was another book that was highly recommended. I wouldn't highly recommend this book but I wouldn't dissuade, either. It's a typical romance novel (which I rarely read) with a cowboy, stagecoach edge. Mason is the love interest, Lily is the grand daughter of a rich tycoon. The couple are reluctantly drawn to one another, end up having sex a few times, and so on.

It's a nice smut read, as far as smut goes. It isn't over the top smut. Romance sprinkled with

I thought this was a nice book, but it didn't blow me away.
Mason is a journalist who lost his enthusiasm for writing and Lily is Boston Lady who's been exiled to Denver.
When they meet Mason and Lily don't really get along, but as they get to know each other they start loving each other. I'm glad Lily lost her infatuation for Cecil quite fast, but to me the story remained a bit basic. It could have used some more action. I did like the twist at the end of the story however. I hadn't expected that

High five to Adrianne Wood! Badlands Bride is a fun and playful romance (erotica?) that breaks away from the tired 'Twilight fanfiction' plot. No poor little innocent young lady bending to the will of a charming metrosexual here ladies. Badlands Bride is all about competent woman who falls in love with a competent man and has her desires fulfilled. An easy and sexy read that even a feminist will enjoy. Finally!

This was a really great, relaxing read. Nothing to exciting but enough to keep me fully engaged. The plot was well developed, characters were well rounded and the writing was enjoyable and flawless. I would reccommend this book to anyone who enjoys western/ historical romance.
