Recommends it for: Fans of the series
Eh. A bit of a disappointment. This is one of my favorite sports romance series and I was hoping for a bit more than just an okay read. For some reason, this book was incredibly over-descriptive--which tended to bog the book down. The hero wasn't all that interesting to me--he was already uber-rich before he even became a baseball player, and didn't seem to have any real romantic problems except for no desire to commit. The heroine was a bit more interesting; she was an ambitious career gal with ...more
I had several problems with this book, first the way it started, the heroine is dressed as Wonder Woman, scouting a club for her employer and the hero is dressed as Captain America, in tights, ughh. Then, suddenly in the club which is sexually charged these two dry hump each other in public, another negative point, the heroine runs away then leaving her lasso behind and the hero is determined to find her.

The hero is James "Law" Lawless, second baseman for the Richmond Rogues and the only heir to

2 stars. Nothing special or different. I didn’t smile. But I was interested enough to keep reading.

Law plays second base for the Richmond Rogues pro baseball team. He has plenty of money from a trust fund plus his ball playing. He likes collecting original issue comic books. He doesn’t want intimacy from women, just sex. He’s thinking about buying a night club where customers dress in costumes. He goes there dressed as Captain America and has some passionate kissing and touching wit

Cover & Title - 3.5/5, the cover doesn't link in for the book to me at all.
Favorite Character - Cat

I haven't read any other book in this series but i still managed to get into this book. I think if i had read the others then i might of liked it more but it was fine as a standalone book. It seemed more like two short stories in one book than one entire book, it covered both Law & Brody in it. The story was interesting & the sexual tension between Law & Cat was hot. I wanted to sl

A good end to the series. Nice to see and catch up with the Rogues again. I felt there was a ton of great lead up between Cat and Law, but then it was like, WHAM, marriage. A bit fast and quick at the end.

And I was shocked at how Brody and Mary's story happend so quickly also.

I like the epilogue and overall really enjoyed the series.

Just felt this one was a bit rushed at the end.

The very first chapter brings a cute meeting for the hero and heroine, Law and Catherine. They’re both dressed up in costumes at a hot night club, Haunt, where every night is like Halloween. Club goers dress up in their best costume and leave their inhibitions at the door. Catherine is there to see firsthand how the club is doing, as a financial advisor, she’s checking the club out for a client as a possible investment opportunity. She g

Loved this book. Cat and Law have met before at a costume party - she as Wonder Women and he was Captain America. A moment of passion lead's Law to search for his Wonder Women. Cat would rather forget the moment as she was embarrassed by her behavior that night. The next day they officially met at her work - she is going to help him with this investments. She realizes that it was Law who she shared her moment of passion with but she keeps it a secret - even after Law mentions that he's trying to ...more

This was a great end to the series. The book stayed with the formula of the previous books with a starring romance and a secondary one. I really liked both our hero (Law) and heroine (Cat). I liked the progression of the Rogues from "players, to married to wanting to be family men. I thought this was handled with great humour and fun.

I have to admit I wasn't wild about the secondary romance, more because I thought Brody was a bit of a jerk and I'm not really sure what I thought of Mary - more p

Not sure I should be interested in a romance novel that the author isn't interested in. There was tons of description, none of it about people though. The oversharing reminded me of Nora Roberts too- all those things that Nora thinks are so cool, that just make her seem like an old fuddy duddy. And Angell is not Roberts.

I've loved many of the books in this series, but this one was just kind of boring and trite. Just not a well written book and no compelling characters.

more 3.5 than 4, but the half point is because she's Kate Angell!

Let me say that KA wrote better than this. But the story is cute and fun. They were nice and no heart-shattering troubles between them.

I really enjoyed this series, and the humor of the boys tats. But this one fell really short for me. Toooo long winded about things that didn't seem to matter to me anyway...I had a real tough time finishing it.

Catherine "Cat" May was the hot number in that skimpy Wonder Woman costume. But she's not about to let Law know it--especially after he hires her to help him expand his off-the-field business empire

This was described as to baseball what Susan Elizabeth Phillips is to football but that is inaccurate. This book lacks the character development and wit of a Phillips book. It’s formulaic and predictable.

Funny. Good characters.great way to wrap up a series in the end.
This might be one of my favorite Rogues books. I love the heart and humor in Kate's books.

Sweet Spot finally answered my question. The entire Richmond Rogues series spanned four years (roughly about 5). For a moment there, i thought it was about a decade. I think i was misled by a sentence or a paragraph in Curveball. Risk, Zen, Psycho, Chase, Romeo, Brek, Sloan, Kason, Rhaden, also including Law and Brody (probably Alex also). Wow! The Rogoues have been very busy. Haha! They sure did attend a lot of weddings in between baseball seasons.

And now that's out of the way, here's what i th

This book was good. It's kind of funny that...I read this series after I read the other series(when this series was supposed to come first)...hehe :) But oh well none the less...both series are done. And we'll see what else she come out with. :)

I’ve read all of this series by Angell, and have really enjoyed each book. (Oh, well, excluding the short story in that anthology, because I can’t find it in a bookstore, damnit.) It bothers me that her books are so hard to find, as I think several of them are out of print, or at least most stores don’t seem to carry them, because they’re so good. I found the first one in the series, luckily, at the used bookstore in my town, just on accident. It was in the wrong

This was a nice sports romance. Pro baseball player and trust fund baby James "Law" Lawless meets Catherine May when he is checking out a popular local club. He is dressed as Captain America; she is dressed as Wonder Woman. They hook up on the dance floor but then Cat runs leaving her lasso of truth behind. Law is fascinated and determined to locate her again.

The next day he meets Cat when he visits a financial adviser and she is the rising star of the firm. She helps him scout out businesses th

I have so many issues with this book starting with Law's obsession with the Wonder Woman and Cat at the same time and how one minute he was obsessed with finding WW and then the next he decided to settle for Cat. I could just about accept this but the Brody/Mary's storyline? I am disgusted!!!! This is surely one of the worst written romance storylines ever? I mean I get that romance books aren't meant to reinvent the wheel and they all follow one of 5 set story arcs and the characters all co

good story, Cat is a financial advisor who is working for former Rogue player Zen Driscoll & is good at her job. She's checking out a masquerade club as a potential buy for a company client when she runs into a super hero & he knocks her socks off. Panicking because she has never been pushed emotionally so far she runs. It's kind of like Cinderella & the glass slipper only this one is Wonder Womans lasso of truth left behind. I loved this book! It pretty much had everything I want in a story - strong female lead (quirky, but not annoyingly so), great male lead (flawed, of course, but believably so [even if he's an otherwise perfect specimen of the male persuasion, right down to the trust fund]), enjoyable secondary characters, and a story that built up perfectly. The beginning took me by surprise, I have to admit, in a way that made me unsure of whether or not I liked the main characters, but that was fixed fairly qu ...more
I loved Law & Cat’s story. It was a classic Richmond Rogues story.

Aside from getting to know new characters, I got to catch up with the lives of all the past Richmond Rogues.

It was also bittersweet because this book was a longtime coming and this was obviously the last book of the series. I have not seen anything specifically saying that but the epilogue made it clear. It’s nice to know what’s going to happen to the Rogues in the future.

I normally don’t have a problem with the secondary l

This book is terrible. Not the worst I've read, but I definitely would not recommend it. The first thing to drive me crazy was the absurdity of so many characters' names. Brek? Zen? Risk? The main storyline between 'Law' and Cat was ok but didn't really have a chance to actually develop as it should. Throwing in Brody and Mary's story annoyed me for two reasons: firstly, it was too detailed. As a secondary storyline, it should have been lighter. Secondly, I wanted to jump into the book and bunch ...more

Not a home run, for me.

I've been a fan of Kate Angells' Rogue Series. And although this seems to be the last of the series, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the writing.

For me, the storylines were all over the place. First, Angell hooks you with Brody and Cat, then halfway through the book she does a complete 180 and brings in a new couple (I actually enjoyed reading their storyline-they should've had their own book) and doesn't even mention Brody and Cat.

Plots were scattered, there wa
