The PA's Revenge

Rate this book
alternate cover edition of ASIN B007KTEF9Q

Cassandra Lee doesn't do emotion. Why would you want to feel anything when your son and father have died in horrific circumstances? Why would you want to do anything other than exact revenge on the man you hold responsible for the tragedy? Revenge is her only focus so she studies his business and revamps her image with the aim of becoming his PA and sabotaging his fortune.

And Dallas Mackenzie's wealth is important to him. He's restored his family's fortunes after his father nearly lost everything through drink, violence and deceit. He believes he's inherited his father's violent temper and alcoholism and is determined not to succumb to them. He values honesty above all else and focuses on working hard and avoiding emotional attachment at any cost, even an empty life.

But empty lives can be filled—at least for a short while—and Dallas sets out to seduce Cassandra. Unfortunately seduction—and her body's responses to this arrogant, powerful and sexy man—wasn't something Cassandra could prepare for. She just hopes that his interest—and her resistance—will hold out long enough to ruin him...

I thought this one started off pretty good. It had my favorite thing going on...enemies to lovers. But unfortunately it later fell flat and I found myself putting it down more and more.

Cassandra is out for revenge. She wants to bring down the man responsible for pushing her father over the edge which lead to his death and her sons death.
Cassandra will become Dallas's PA and once he trusts her she will bankrupt his company and him.

So my problem was with how attracted Cassandra was to Dallas. It made it hard for me to believe that she was out for revenge. Her revenge plan also felt silly to me.

Of course Dallas was never going to get married or have kids of his own. He knew Cassandra was hiding something but didn't know what it was.

After these two have sex things became very predictable to me.
I liked them both but I didn't feel the connection with them as a couple.

If you're after a quick and predictable read this ones for you. I might read about the other two brothers later:)

This is Cassandra and Dallas's story and really what can I say about this story other than it was a great read for me. What actually started out as a revenge for Cassandra turned this book into such a powerful read. Even though Dallas is the main guy in this story it is really Cassandra's strong and riveting story that stirs from anger, regret and what propels her through this story is the death of her son Danny. What keeps Dallas on the edge of his seat is the mystery that lies with in Cassandra. I really don't know what other to write about this book without giving it away. The sexual content was warm and fuzzy nothing to write your friends about but it had its purpose in this read. I am glad that this was a stand alone book but I kind of wish the ending wasn't the ending for me I think the story should have gone on but it had a good epilogue so I am good. I hope you find as much pleasure in reading this book as I did

This book was so emotional....to experience such loss and still manage to forgive in the process and fall in love.
Being in love is the greatest cure!!!

Dallas and Cassandra opened each other's heart to love again...they both saw destruction and felt loss which locked off their heart...processing their love and making a child just scream wonders to their life!!!!
It was a great read!!!

1. The Real Thing: The Mackenzies book 1
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the Wellington, New Zealand set steamy novel The Real Thing: The Mackenzies book 1: Guy and Lucia by Diana Fraser and this review was given freely.
An instant attraction romance with vivid descriptions is intertwined with an art forgery scheme involving the Chinese mob.
This first volume does introduce the three Mackenzie brothers in that we learn all their names at the end of the book but the featured plot only involves Dallas Mackenzie and only in the form of a not so subtle matchmaker for his ex-girlfriend, City Art Gallery art restorer Lucia, and his best friend, world traveling lawyer and grieving widower Guy Martin.

2. Book 2: The PA’s Revenge (Mackenzies #2)
4 Stars
I purchased a copy of the Wellington, New Zealand set steamy novel The PA’s Revenge: The Mackenzies book 2: Dallas and Cassandra by Diana Fraser and this review was given freely.
A steamy office romance built on a foundation of revenge, attraction, misunderstandings, secrets, and a vow of no commitments shows the tender and caring side of perpetually single business entrepreneur Dallas Mackenzie.
American Cassandra Lee moves to New Zealand to destroy the man responsible for the death of her father and son only to find herself conflicted by her intense attraction to him and his contradictory character.
3. Book 3:The Marriage Trap (Mackenzies #3)
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the Wellington, New Zealand set steamy novel The Marriage Trap: The Mackenzies book 3: Callum and Gemma by Diana Fraser and this review was given freely.
Poignant with moments of steam, action and suspense this is a second chance at love story which combines a highly critical mother, strong diverse female characters, the Alpha MacKenzie bothers, some secrets and an obsessive ex.
Gemma Winters leaves London, England to escape an abusive relationship only to find herself conflicted, in New Zealand, nearly drowned, and trapped in a remote shepherd’s hut with the forceful but emotionally reserved widower, Callum Mackenzie.

Cassandra and Dallas

Cassandra blamed Dallas for the death of her father and son. She had a plan for revenge but needed to be hired first. Dallas knew she was hiding something but hired her for a week to see how she worked and hopefully to find her secret.
I had a hard time settling in but grew to enjoy the story and the characters. I grew to really enjoy it.

I really liked this story. Even though there was a few language issues, it was easy to understand it. About 140 pgs.
Cassandra has gone through hell in the last year. She lost her husband. Then a few months later she loses her father and son (father committed suicide while he was with her son and both were at sea, book doesn't tell details of the event). She feels that Dallas was the one who bought her family's business and destroyed it. So she decides to be his personal 24/7 assistant and then destroy his company/money. But she finds that he is a great guy and falls in love with him. Later finds that he wasn't the one who killed her families company. Dallas decides to hire Cassandra as a week trial and soon finds he wants her in more way than one. But she won't let her guard down. As they grow together, they both fall for each other and fight it. She doesn't want to like him do to the lose of her son and he stated the he will never marry or have a family. Finds himself losing control and wanting to please her in any way. But he knows that she is still hiding something from him. He doesn't find out until later. But very good story.

4.25 out of 5. Another winner from a really good author, one who keeps the heat turned up throughout the book, who seems to be able to craft a story so that the tension between the characters never lets up while allowing readers to experience the deep feelings and inner realities that drive the characters' actions and reactions along with the story itself. "Revenge is a dish best served cold" and Cassandra's desire for revenge is a cold, hard knot stuck in her heart, right alongside the relentless grieving over her father's suicide and the death of her son. Yet when she encounters Dallas--a man known for his hard exterior, his cutting-edge business acumen, and his even harder heart, it is a surprise to find that he is perplexed and intrigued by his new Personal Assistant, and that is just how Cassie likes it. A really great read and one that will rivet the reader to the chair--it's a read-in-one-sitting kind of book!

A well thought revenge for her family loss. Cassandra Lee wants to hurt Dallas Mackenzie where it will hurt the most, she is going to ruin him financially. But she never counted on the magnetic attraction they seemed to have. Then things weren't adding up, he wasn't doing what she expected.

Dallas Mackenzie believed he was his fathers son, his only goals were to fix what his father had almost destroyed. Dallas is a conflicted man.
I enjoyed this storytelling it was engaging with just enough suspense. The feeling's real, there are people who meet in this world and have an attraction to each other whether they want to or not.
I would recommend this book the intimate moments were not to much but enough to be satisfying. The epilogue gives us a wonderful!

Cassandra Lee has been working on a plan for the past 6 months. She plans on exacting revenge against Dallas McKenzie in the best way-attack his business and bank account. He was the one responsible for the death of her father and son, and she wants him to pay.

Dallas can't keep a PA, and when Cassandra muscles her way into an interview, he is instantly intrigued. She is keeping something from him, but he is attracted to her like he has never felt before, and he wants to know more.

These two had some great chemistry and some sexy times, but the reason for her revenge was a little shaky for me. I suppose when something happens to the the people you love, even if they do it themselves, you want to blame someone else, and that's what happened here. It was an interesting read, and I do enjoy the revenge/keeping a secret trope.

I review a lot of books, from all types of genres. Romance novels are generally a dime a dozen, but this one has a little more grit and reality to it. The need for revenge without knowing all the surrounding issues, is not something that is generally put to the for. Definitely well written with good descriptions of sight sound etc., however what sets this apart is the flow that captures you in the way it's written. Didn't put it down until finished is one way to look at rating this piece, however if you are reading on your commute to work, you may have a problem due to missing your stop. I give it 4 1/2 stars in my rating system, worth adding to your library. Good job.

Good story, I like the end, which was predictable.
Class is seeking revenge for the death of her son and father. She blames Dallas because his company took over her fathers and her father then kills himself while on his yacht and her son was with him. She never saw her son again and in her grief she targets Dallas. She becomes his PA with the intent of bankrupting him. She slowly sees that he is not the man she had envisioned develops feelings. He has gone through many PAs, literally, and when they get clingy or want more than he is willing to give it's done. Now he is open about himself but it doesn't matter to her because Cass only wants vengeance, or so she thinks. That both grow in this story and the end is great. HEA and no cheating or triangle.

So i'm not going to tell you what the book is about because you can read that in the description. But I will tell you what I did not like about the book: Cassandra lost her Son and her father and blames it on Dallas, but she immediately is sexually attracted to him. It bothers me that she blames him for the death of a child but she wants to have sex with him?! No. That would not happen. I wish the author would have made it more of a chase, something of she fell in love with him as she got to know him instead of just immediate oh I want to sex with you oh I love you happily ever after.

Other than that it was a cute story it was very predictable

Great read..

I really don't care what the 1 and 2 star reviews say I thought this was a great story and I'm definitely going to complete the series.

I absolutely loved Dallas and Cassandra. I loved her thoughts of revenge, only to find out the truth.
I liked Guy and Lucia, Rosa, Callum and James.

There was some really well written sex in this book, too.
I would recommend this book to all romance readers.

There was some angst, which I HATE, but it was minimal since this book only had 178 pages, and that's much better than 350 or 450 pages of angst, angst, angst and misunderstandings. I'm really beginning to like these smaller books instead the larger wordy ones.

Cassandra, who blames Dallas Mackenzie for the death of her father and little son, sets out to destroy him and gets hired as his PA to accomplish her goal.
Very predictable plot, but not a bad book at all; some of the dialogues and actions/reactions were a bit too unrealistic, and sometimes I felt the reasons behind certain feelings and interactions should have been explained in more detail, especially - and I hope this is not a spoiler now - the change of heart a certain person had towards the end of the book.
On the whole, though, a very enjoyable story; a pity there were so many many spelling errors.

Well, this book was okay, just predictable from the get-go. And it really took too long to get into the meat of the story, and find out why characters were behaving why they were, etc. It's not that the book was bad, just probably about twice as long as it needed to be.

Cassandra's anger seemed very misplaced as well. I realize this get resolved, but the fact she didn't have all the rather obvious facts was a bit puzzling.

This is probably not a serial that I am going to pick up this time. :\

This was so much more than I imagined. When I read the blurb I was worried that the reason for wanting revenge was going to be trite. It wasn't. I am not a big advocate of revenge, but Cassandra's reasons were organically valid. She did not have all the information, but I never felt like shouting at her not to do something.

This was much more emotional that I would have predicted. Very good job.

Dallas and Cassandra. The Mackenzies book 1
I discovered this author over Christmas 2013 and in the last week i have read 3 of her books, not bad going when you consider that I work in retail full time.
This book had it all for me I laughed and cried. Cassandra is out for revenge her father has killed himself and in doing so her son is missing presumed dead now she is out to get back at the person who she blames for destroying her family......Dallas!

Didn't really like this book. It was just plain boring for me. Nothing exciting happens, there's a lot of internal dialogue which is really annoying. I don't know, its like Dallas and Cassandra weren't really a good fit. Her past is very sad and unfortunate, but the book is extremely predictable, probably why I found it boring. Other readers enjoyed it though, not really sure why, it was missing that explosive WOW factor.

Awwwe... It was a great read for me. I loved the intensity and chemistry between the characters Dallas and Cassandra. I conjure up such hot images of Dallas in my mind... WOW! :-)

What began as revenge turned into hot, steamy romantic sex and love conquers all eventually. The author did a great job of moving the story along instead of dragging out the details and keeping us in forever suspense like some do. I highly recommend this Romance novel..

A lovely story about loss and revenge. Cassandra is all set to destroy her new boss Dallas. The mutual attraction spices up their lives but they refuse to be blinded by emotions. They make a perfect couple . Time heals Cassandra and she finds peace in the company of Dallas. However she realizes that Dallas was never the cause of her father business loss and leaves him. Will Dallas seek her out ? Just read and will not be disappointed.

this was an enjoyable read. i got a good feel for the characters in this story and right at the start hated Dallas and loved Cassandra's determination.
this book is filled with lust, anger and sorrow. it proves that you shouldn't let revenge rule your life or to lock away your feelings. the ending was predictable but most stories are its how the characters get to the end that counts.
i would recommend this story to others who are looking for a heart felt read.

I enjoyed Dallas and Cassandra's story. It was easy to read, included New Zealand settings and moved along at a good pace. I liked the story line, although I felt it could have been longer, instead of having to read 3 books, it would have been nice to read about the other brothers as different plot lines within the one book.

I have not read anything by this author before, but enjoyed it and will be looking to read other books by Diana.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The characters were interesting and real to me within pages. I thought I had the story all figured out, but I was pleasantly surprised! There were interesting twists and turns that kept the story interesting. I do wish that the ending had been a bit more difficult for the characters, but I'll forgive it for the fact that I really liked both of them. All-in-all, a wonderful read.
