All Sophie Creedon has ever wanted is a normal life – but normal life doesn’t seem to want Sophie. Strikingly pretty, a top student, with unique musical talent, the London schoolgirl has always stood out from the crowd. But it’s the Revenants that truly set her apart: creatures not quite living, not quite dead, and visible only to Sophie. Hard as she tries to ignore them, ...more

Mixed feelings. I can enjoy a good paranormal story, but at times this felt like nothing new. Some readers thought of the Fallen-series, me too. It was somewhat enjoyable but it also felt unrealistic. I found it very hard to accept the fact that Sophie got used to her new role so fast and that it was al very normal what she felt she had to do. I guess that's the power of love or something...

But, since I have the second book on my shelf I will continue the series, just curious to find out what ha
I liked this story and it had an interesting twist on the angel stories.
The beginning made me really think of fallen by Lauren Kate but it went in a different direction.

I did enjoy the story but I'll probably not pick up the sequel

Bound was an amazing book! It has the perfect balance of Suspense, Romance, and Mystery. I couldn't put it down! The characters are lovable, and every page sweeps you along with the plot. If you want something to read that you will love and not be disappointed READ THIS BOOK! Your eyes will be permanently glued to the invigorating plot! Wonderful!

I seem to be in the minority in disliking this story so please bare that in mind before dismissing this book out of hand. However, that said, it wasn't for me. It was just far too typical of the genre. An overtly melodramatic romance about two star-crossed lovers and their struggles and sacrifices to remain together. The twists of the story were fairly obvious from the opening chapters, even if the cover hadn't given the game away (who could Lucas Belial, the laird of a

Bound by Sarah Bryant is a wonderful book. Narrated by a young woman called Sophie, she begins her story on a ferry boat to the tiny village of Ardnasheen, on Scotland's wild northwest coast . While in the seemingly quiet town Sophie makes some life changing discoveries such as why she can see Revenants and why she has the sight for the Síth. This fantasy novel features ancient lore about the fairies that roam the Scottish lands from murderous water horses to wild cats. However Bryant also uses ...more

I liked the atmosphere of this book. Sophie was better as a protagonist than I expected. The development of the book felt slow for me, but It got better on the....third part of the book.
I kept reading for the guilt of dropping the book and a bit of curiosity of the final explanation...But I think I missed some things. I didn't understand the core of the plot the first time... It made me impatient to not being able to see the whole picture of what was happening. I don't know If I'll search the se

I confess, this was one of those books you buy, put on your shelf then forget about as you get pulled into all the hyped books. And for this I was a total idiot.

This book was like Fallen and then some. There was so much intrigue, once I got going I was hooked, and we're talking almost missing my bus stop, dropping everything until I was finished intrigue. I fell completely in love with the characters and cannot wait to see what happens next.

First published at Booking in Heels.

I'm not sure why, but it didn't really 'click' that Bound was an angel story. I mean, yes, I'm aware of the angel statue on the cover and the big writing in capital letters on the top that may as well say 'THIS IS AN ANGEL BOOK.' But it still didn't seem to permeate, so... shut up! I just don't think the above summary does this book any justice - it makes it sound like some generic paranormal YA story, possibly complete with melodramatic angst and Sneaky Vampi

When I first got an email off Sarah asking to review her book I will admit that I had never heard of her.  But after reading the synopsis of Bound I was very intrigued and really wanted to find out what it was all about.
Sophie Creedon, leaves her home of London for Ardnasheen, Scotland and starts new job a barmaid in pub run by Rhadhri.  She quickly becomes friends with Ailsa, who not only is the other barmaid, but also stays in Madainneag with Sophie.  However strange occurrences start to happe

Okay, I'm going to start out by saying that I LOVED this book, it was fantastic and I couldn't put it down, like literally in was two hundred pages in when I had to go to college and I spent the two hours that I was in class thinking about where I'd left off and then I was straight back to it when I got home. As soon as the book was finished I immediately sent an email to my contact at the publishers demanding a copy of the sequel when it becomes available...

Yeah, I loved this book.

But it didn'

Very occasionally you come across a book which you know almost nothing about but which ends up amazing and surprising you with a story which you fall in love with. 'Bound' by Sarah Bryant is one of those books. I picked it up to read one evening and curled up in bed planning to just read a couple of chapters. Those couple of chapters turned into a few more and then a few more and I found that I couldn't actually go to sleep until I'd found out how the plot was going to unfold and what was going ...more

4.5 mysterious stars!

I'd really like to point out how underrated this book is and how much I want it to change! This book was such a great one to read and I absolutely devoured it. At the start we're already confronted with the mystery around the main character and what she's exactly seeing. The fact that both reader and character didn't know what these creatures actually were made it a very pleasant read, because we get the possibility

I found this book enjoyable and would say it probably fits a bit YA as it reminds me of a cross between Lauren Kate's Fallen and Cassandra Clare's The Mortal instruments. I found the authors style of writing easy to get into and I could warm to the lead character. I will say though parts became a little predicable on who the villain of the peace was (but very few books seem to fool me on this); I'm thoroughly looking forward to reading the sequel.

I love a good back story and it was fun to read a different theory on why angels exist. I've not read a fantasy about angels before so enjoyed it a lot and will definitely be reading the next one.
