Sweet and savory bakes for the winter holidays. Has traditional things like stollen, pannetone, and Bûche de Noël, then more day-to-day things like blueberry muffins, Vietnamese spring rolls, and cornbread. It's actually quite short on items I'd consider required holiday eating, like there's no gingerbread men or shortbread. There's not even a sugar cookie. And there's not a single sufganiyah to be seen.

It doesn't require a custom flour blend, though, and uses basic gluten-free pantry items like brown rice flour, potato and tapioca starch, and xanthan gum, as well as butter. Recipes have head notes and a color photo for each, though not always of the finished product. Some recipes do have advice on how to make certain items ahead for entertaining, and that's about as close as you're going to get to storage advice. Measurements are in U.S. volume, and the index is very simple.

While I don't follow a gluten-free diet myself, I do have quite a few friends that do so I keep an eye out for yummy recipe ideas to share or make as gifts. This book has many selections to choose from. I'll definitely be trying some out this holiday season.
