The story is a bit choppy, unfortunately. If you haven't seen the movie, you'll miss quite a bit of context.

Little Jamie is about to have a chance to help save the world.

A magical snowball fight grabs my attention.

Then Jamie gets to meet Jack Frost. Suddenly the ever-exciting kid activity of sledding becomes far more exciting than usual.

RATING THIS BOOK

I'll set aside my disdain for books based on movies. (Why not let books just be books, not pallid substitutes for movies?)

As usual, I'll rate this book from the perspective of the intended readers. These would be Level Two readers with a ton of athleticism and even bigger dreams. FIVE STARS for this action-packed adventure.

This cute picture book features the character Jamie Bennett from the Rise Of The Guardians movie. When Pitch and his nightmares make kids stop believing in the Guardians (Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc.), Jamie still believes and help the Guardians defeat Pitch. Cute illustrations by Zack Franzen and Charles Grosvenor.

This is a great early readers version of the movie "rise of the guardians". My daughter loved this movie. This book just follows the human Jamie through his part in the movie and is fun, adventurous and full of exciting but easy words.
