The Pixie Rebels are no more. Now, Z Thornbrook and her miniature cousins are the Pixie MP’s, even if on base only their Captain knows there are wings under that uniform. But what happens when you tell a group of new recruits who are used to running the streets to hide who they really are? Well, mayhem – mixed with a lot of magic – and to the pixies’ surprise, a sense of duty and honor at their post. It’s a lot. That’s going to turn out to be a very good thing. Trouble is calling and it has their number. Dangerous, murderous trouble and the fun is about to end. The Pixie MPs help Alpha Team capture a gang of magical cyber hackers that may hold a clue to the strange Oriceran symbol Z found on the Pixies last heist. The card from the bank safety deposit box. Can it be connected to some larger plot? Did Z and her gang accidentally stumble into a larger danger? It’ll take working together as a tiny army unit, small in size, but large in heart to figure out the mystery in time. Click BUY NOW or READ FOR FREE to begin the adventure!
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Book 3: 3 times the fun, 4 times the laughs and 5 times…
See what I did there? Well that is my best, albeit pitifully poor in comparison, attempt at mirroring the hilarity that fills this book from one end to the other.
I can’t begin to laud my praises loudly enough for an INCREDIBLY well done book. Just the concept, alone, of pixies- mischievous, simultaneously innocent and diabolic, and completely foreign to human sensibilities - in a human military is guaranteed to be fun. Once again, however, Mike and Martha take the obvious and transform it to the sublime.
There is nothing I can tell you about this book other than to say this:
If you read only one fantasy series in your LIFETIME, make it this one. Forget Tolkien, Jordan and Heinlein. You can even forget ***GASP*** The Kurtherian Gambit and the rest of Oriceran. Those may be great literature or captivating stories, but this is both humor and fantasy for the ages.
DO NOT try to read this book as a standalone. Even though I lamented the last book as having no movement, Mike and Martha have forced me to eat those words. There is not a single element that is not crucial in bringing the reader to this smorgasbord of fun and delight. So hop to it! You’re gonna love it!
This was a well-deserved 4 stars, for me, and with no hesitation, either.
This book certainly made up for the lag in books 1 and 2 and, even though the Thornbrooks ended up in a kind of stasis again, at least there was a real reason for it, this time!
I love the way that their characters are really settled, now, although, if I'd had to spend days on end with Domino, I think that I'd do anything possible to avoid his company - but he's slowly starting to appeal to me, in his own, zany, way!
After the scene where the Pixies helped in Alpha Team's Operation, I was very happy with the direction that the series seems to be heading, so I have every hope that in book four; 'Pixie Squad', there will be more of this, so we can see the Cousins actually doing what they do best, next!.
So, as I've read the night away, once more, I'm going to finish this review, get some sleep, then start reading this next book. Once I've done that, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I thought about it!
You should have done more research on military training, uniforms and general conduct of military personnel. I don't think that any training officer would have blinked twice at the Thornbrook cousins antics, they would have ended up back on Oriceran in the first week! Stealing an officers ID is a court martial offense. Caps, hats or covers are required for all military uniforms. (mainly outdoors).I was unable to get into this series because I found it unbelievable as a work of fiction, I would call Carmine Ratchetter and send them back. Unsatisfied U.S.M.C veteran!
Congratulations to Martha Carr and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such intexresting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
I really want to meet the people you secretly based this on. They (may not be pixies) seem extremely interesting! My grand daughter loves this series even more then I do! (I read it to her with different voices and all) Thank you Jeff Howell
I snickered throughout this entire book. But chapters 22 and 23 had me laughing with tears. I think we are finally getting on to the real job for our Pixies. I can't wait!
The pixies are now learning how to be MPs on Fort Carson and are really trying hard, however they are mostly learning what they should not be doing. This series is full of wise cracking pixies, freaked out soldiers and plenty of fun.
I seriously tried to give this series a chance. Book 1 had a reasonable premise and seemed fun, but the whole thing went downhill from there. Seemed like words were added to words for more words sake. Could not finish Book 3.
This story really holds your interest. I usually don't do continuing stories like this, but I just can't stop reading! It really grabs you, such fun and I love the pixies! Good read!
This one was hard for me to get through I kept at it and finally made it I kept asking myself why are the pixies having to hide there abilities Finally they get to show them and are highly successful Great story Great characters Thank you
Martha Carr and Michael Anderle do it again. The two give us wonderfully new stories to fill our hours of reading pleasure. So fun having pixies trying their best to assimilate into army life. Thank you for another enjoyable night spent in your lovely world.
