Best book I've read on market socialism. Written in Roemer's very clear and minimalist style. Lays out the history of the debate, the problems with central planning, and sketches out the beginning of his model of a "coupon economy" that could simulate what works best in a capitalist economy (efficient allocation and management of capital goods) while eliminating the existence of a capitalist class.
