I'm going to start writing reviews here. Not for others, but for my own memory. Please skip.

This was an academic assigned book. UAS post Qmed Maritime degree English class. I don't know that I read it cover to cover, but I finished the class and usefulness of this title. I believe it is still bought in my Kindle list. Maybe it will make a good reference later.

This was a quick and easy read and did have some great information and tips. However, I found it to be less insightful with the technical aspects of writing about literature than I was expecting. It's still worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book. It is so informative. I got more from reading this book for my class than I did from anything else involved in my class. This book will forever be on my bookshelf and will be reviewed regularly.

Very good introduction or review to productive reading for literary texts and how to effectively write about literary texts (specifically in an academic setting).
Designed for the college level it feels like, though would probably be equally effective in high school.

There is nothing in this book that cannot be learned from a less condescending author. The examples chosen were good, though, so this is saved from one star.

If you need a book to help you sleep, or if you really like writing and need reminders a good place to dwell.

Would be a four-star but includes a pretty botched misreading of Dickinson’s “Because I could not stop for Death.” Will still consider using in potential 2nd year college writing course.

This looks like an excellent resource for teaching a writing class that incorporates literature.

Fast, easy, and incredibly useful. Detailed and idiot-proof. Read this one if your school papers blow.
