The Popular Handbook on the Rapture: Experts Speak Out on End-Times Prophecy

Rate this book
Overview

Why is there so much confusion about how and when the rapture will take place?
What does the Bible say for certain about this event?
When will the Tribulation occur, and who will face it?

There is a lot of discussion among Christians about the rapture and the last days. Why all the different views? And how do those perspectives line up with Scripture?

Tim LaHaye and Thomas Ice have assembled a team of longtime Bible prophecy experts who look carefully to God's Word for the answers. In this book, readers will discover what they can know for certain. And as they consider the things that still remain uncertain, they will gain a renewed trust that God knows what He is doing. His plan is perfect, and it will unfold in His timing.

An easy-to-understand resource that provides much-needed clarification about the end times.

Maranatha!
As all the craziness is going on in the world, I wanted to know why my parents and extended family members believed in pretribulationalism.
This book is so informative and very dense. However, I would not have wanted it any other way. By bringing the absolute facts and the verses that support the idea of the rapture and pretribulationalism, I am so thankful to say that I now strongly believe in a pretribulational rapture, and I can explain why. This book is also great at taking arguments from post and mid tribulationalist doctrines and then refuting them using Scripture, historical context, and other convincing sources. This is a very informative and convicting read for any one who desires to dive deeper into the end times.

Found some good information, and also some insightful nuggets in this book. If studying the upcoming rapture of Christians from the earth before the great tribulation, I highly recommended this book. And, the Bible, too.

Some of the essays were quite good; some not so much. Andy Woods’ Essay on the date of Revelation was very helpful, along with Thomas Ice’s Essay on hermeneutics.

This is a great collaboration of three of the most popular teachers of our generation on the End Times. I would give it five stars, except that I happen to disagree entirely with its central point, which is that the Rapture--the sudden catching away of God's people at Christ's return--is going to take place before the seven-year Great Tribulation. I believe that the Rapture, in fact, will take place in conjunction with the Resurrection at Christ's Second Coming, precisely at the end of the Great Tribulation. I discuss this in detail in my own book series, These Final Days.
