Fin is a dinosaur unlike any other—teased for his "spindly little legs, bony tail and feeble fluffy arms." But despite his odd appearance, when a gang of four big, bullying dinosaurs chase him into the woods, Fin outwits them one by one—all except the meanest, fiercest dinosaur of all, who follows him right to the top of the mountain, where Fin takes a giant leap of faith and discovers . . . he can fly! Dinosaur fanatics will adore Benedict Blathwayt’s beautifully detailed illustrations as much as they will love witnessing how the first dinobird discovered he knew how to fly.
A good story about how to deal with bullies. The illustrations are really nice and tell the story better than the text does. The text got a bit wordy for my 2 year old but it was ok to use as a prompt.
This ranks among one of my favorite children's books! The story meaningfully teaches how to deal with bullies, especially with regard to how to think. Regardless of what bullies say or do, we all have things about us that make us special. What's more, some of our supposed weaknesses turn out one day to be strengths. In addition to these lessons, the illustrations are gorgeous and lavishly detailed. The story is fun and engaging. Perhaps most importantly my 3-year old loves it and asks to read it time and time again. A real winner.
Finn the dinosaur has special quirks that makes him different from all the other dinosaurs. But when he is picked on by some bullies he finds that these differences becomes useful.
The illustrations are wonderful. It actually tells the story much more than the accompanied text. This is a book parents can use to engage their child and help tell the story.
Fin is a young dinosaur who gets teased by bullys. Never underestimate a dinasour because of his appearance, yoou never know what ablitys they posses. Fin finds that he has an ablity that he himself never knew he had. This would be a good book to read aloud or recommend for astudent who is a bully or is being bullied. For grades 1st- 5th.
My 4.5 yo boys loves the Benedict Blathwayt Little Red Train books so I sought this one out and it was a hit - he asked for me to read it again as soon as we'd finished. It's a smart, engaging story for dino-loving kids with the highly-detailed illustrations kids love.
