Enjoyable for Transformers fans (including yours truly). There were some great descriptive scenes with key robot characters, which enabled me to visualize the story like a cartoon.
I wish I could rate it 3.5 stars. As a robot fan, I would read the next book in the series.
WARNING – SPOILER My only comment is that I felt the young antagonist (Douglas) was not so believable as a criminal mastermind – even in the fantasy world of transforming robots.

I'm reading this book to my 9-year old son and we are both really enjoying it. I recommend it for anyone who is a Transformers fan (OG or Nu-Fan) or anyone that's a kid at heart.
“Transformers Battle Mountain”, By Ryder Windham with Jason Fry is a action packed adventure. It is about a mysterious cybertronian cylinder that a Decepticon hurled into the earth which they think caused a small group of soldiers to go missing. Optimus Prime and the general are trying to figure out how the cylinder works and what the ancient artifact is. This all took place in The Battle Mountains. How I found this book was I like the movies and I thought they were exciting and adventures so I thought it would be a pretty interesting book. It is a part of a three book series I don’t believe there is a specific order to read them.
A big part of the book is when Kevin’s brother goes missing with a whole team of soldiers. They believe that the cylinder had some thing to do with it. But the problem is that the Decepticon that hurled It down to earth is not giving information about it and what it is. Also, to make matters worse the other Decepticons are watching their every move. The Autobots now that they are not alone when they are trying to find out how this relicke works. Douglas Porter is trying to help Kevin though his journey to find his brother and Kevin knows that the General, his army, and the Autobots will always be behind him no matter what the cost.
My favorite part of “Transformers Battle Mountain”, is when Ironhide was getting chased in the junkyard by a tank because it was some action. Just for your information Mr.Potter is the one that made the tank. His son Douglas was the one that was controlling the tank but it was getting controlled through a computer and he could see everything the tank could see and the damage that the tank was taking. Mr.Potter was furious that the tank was destroyed because the tank had costed millions of dollars. Here Is this part of the book, “Ironhide grabbed the tank’s microwave canon and mashed it into scrap. He seized the twisted turret, holding the tan still he aimed his missile launcher at the seam where the turret joined the hull”(Windham and Fry 18).
Over all I think that it is a well processed, descriptive, and well put together book. Some similar books are to military/hangar books or books like that. You would like this book if you like action or if you are into military books. Also if you liked the moves you probably would like this book.
