It was a balmy evening late in May. My son Daniel had left for work, or so I thought. I heard the doorbell ringing and opened the front door. There stood an extremely agitated Daniel. 'Someone has run over a baby raccoon, and its sibling just ran through the yard to the back of our house.'

Thus begins A Tale of Two Raccoons, the true story of playful, mischievous raccoons b

My review
I loved this book. The antics of the Raccoons and the tenderness apparent within the story towards wild animals were clear. Vivian's story was filled with life and living it with Raccoons. I got a lot from reading this story. I learned anew that a person should at all times have respect for wild animals. That, as humans we have a responsibility to deal with animals not as if they were humans but as if they were animals with all that that entails. I also learned another lesson. One more

This book was a short read and was very adorable. Not my type of book, but I won it in a contest and figured hey why not give it a shot. I pretty much laughed a bunch through out this book, since the author would describe how the raccoon's played or got into things. I would love to read this book to my 5 year old, but I am not sure he would truly enjoy it so I am going to have to wait at least until he is around 6 or 7.

If you want a quick, laughable read this is a book for you. One of my friend

This is a great little autobiography of a woman and her son during a period in their lives when they raised orphaned raccoon kits. It is a cute critter tale that will keep children interested, plus teach them the importance of respecting the wild. I can say from experience that taking care of orphaned and injured critters is a big job and love that the author shared their experiences with the world. Proof that it isn't just fuzzy snuggles and fun, even though fun is involved. I can't wait for my ...more

I was gifted a paperback copy of the book in return for an honest review.
This is a fabulously written true story that melted my heart and was very insightful, interesting, and I believe it to be a very educational story about raising wild raccoon. This is a RECOMMENDED READ for all ages to enjoy and it will capture your hearts into re-reading and treasuring this story for all time. This story will be considered to be the next Modern Classic. I give this book a 5 star review and 5 more for being

I am posting this review for my son. Once a month, on my blog we have a feature called Monkeys Review. This was the book that he reviewed for the month of April.

My favorite parts of this book were when Daniel and his mom saved the kit. They were very nice to the baby raccoon. I really liked this book. I love animals and the part that made me sad is when the car ran over a baby raccoon in the beginning. I hope that my mom lets me bring a wild raccoon in the house and take care of it like they did

(From the words of my four year old)

I liked the pictures! They were really good. The story was sad at first and then when the raccoon grew up it was a happy story. I liked Rascal the best. I felt happy when you read this book to me cause the raccoons grew up. I think little bitty will visit his family again someday. I would like to read this story again on another day. I liked this book a big medium! (Translation: we ask him if he liked the book a lot, a little or medium.. if he says medium we s

This is my first self-published children's book entitled, A Tale of Two Raccoons, which my son, Daniel illustrated. I am in the process of writing more children's books. My son and I bought the house together and we live with two furry, four-legged girls named, Bridget, and Holly. They assist me with my writing, especially Bridget, who wants to type and edit on my lap.
