Having no choice in the matter, Henri travels to his brother's quiet country horse ranch. It's there he sees Monica again.

He had met her before...at his brother's wedding. And he knew then she would be trouble for him if he let her get too close

"His Chosen Bride" by Sherry Gloag was a sweet romantic story. I liked
the way the author presented this storytelling. It was truly all about family. For Henri... his thoughts were to have his father pick his bride. The King of Scotland who had been ill.. was now well and wanted to his son Henri Pierre Gasquet (who had taken care of all his responsibilities while

Book: His Chosen Bride
Series: Gasquet Princes - Book 2
Author: Sherry Gloag
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Length: Approximately 98 Pages

HIS CHOSEN BRIDE by SHERRY GLOAG is the second book in the Gasquet Princes Series. I read the first book in the series, FROM NOW UNTIL FOREVER, while I was on vacation as a personally chosen read, so I didn't review that book, but I did rate it 4 Stars. I'm so glad I picked FROM NOW UNTIL FOREVER up. There are several reasons for that. My first genre of choice is rom

Henri Gasquet is forced to take a holiday from his duties as heir to the throne. Far from pleased with suddenly having nothing to do, he visits his brother and sister-in-law in Scotland. The one redeeming part of the trip—and one of the most frustrating—is the appearance of Monica Latimer, the woman he hasn’t been able to forget since the day he first met her. Can he win over Monica’s heart and accept her special gift? Can Monica learn to trust Henri and break through the royal wall he’s built a ...more

His Chosen Bride was not exactly what I expected. At time it was boring and as I read, it did get more interesting, so I wanted to know how it would all work out. That was one reason why I kept turning the pages; to what lengths would Henri go to see just who Monica really is and how important what she does means to her. Monica and Henri are very attracted to each other but there are some things that keep them

I love the simple complexity of the characters, especially Monica. I love how she didn’t “flaunt” her psychic powers but tried to be herself. I like that she didn’t fall at Henri’s fee, even though she truly loved him. Henri tended to be a bit of an enigma. He took his duties very seriously, and he seemed to not trust himself to pick a bride suitable to rule beside him. This made him very frustrated and he took it out on Monica, who didn’t take it lying down.
I loved having the heroine save the d

I really like Monica and her Gift she has to help others! How cool is that? I think pretty cool. I also like Henri and understand him having a hard time being force to take a break and wanting to blame someone. I liked the tension between Henri and Monica. I did feel that Henri was a bit fickle with his feelings. But he seemed to work that out in the end. I sure hope that Ms. Gloag has plans to write the Henri's younger twins stories. I felt she did a great job of setting that up toward the end ...more

I've enjoyed previous books by Sherry Gloag, and when Astraea Press offered His Chosen Bride as July's Book Club selection, I immediately sent for my copy. It's a quick read, and I finished it in an evening. Stories about royalty are fascinating for us commoners, but this novella takes place away from the pageantry of the royal court as Prince Henri is sent on a vacation away from his duties. Other than the "instant attraction" from their first meeting, I would have liked to learn more about the ...more

This was a cute and sweet, if predictable, romance. What really added a nice twist was Monica's "gift" of healing and seeing things in the fire, which is what caused part of the conflict - that, and the prince's stubbornness. Most of the story can stand on its own, but there were times when I felt I really missed some backstory by not reading the first in the series. I will have to rectify that soon.

A well written great story between Monica and Henri. It seems that whatever we think we want never turns out to be what we get or should have. I always wanted to have a "gift" but never really thought how others would perceive it or me.

A lovely paranormal romance. The interactions between the characters are frustratingly believable. The paranormal aspect of the story is not overwhelming which makes it more believable. I did feel the ending was a bit rushed.
Overall, a well done and fun read!

"CAN DUTY AND LOVE LIVE AS ONE?"

This story is almost the complete antithesis of its predecessor. `From Now Until Forever', had the King and Queen attempting and failing to reign in their headstrong and rebellious youngest son, Prince Liam and finally having to reconcile themselves to accepting him for the individual personality he had developed and the independent young man that he had become, recognising that their unconditional love for him still overshadowed whatever regal dictates they were

Prince Henri Pierre Gasquet, the heir to the throne of a tiny European country bordering Switzerland, leaves his father in charge of finding him a wife:

I am prepared to marry a bride of your choice. It worked for you and mother. And I see no reason why, if my proposed bride is chosen with care, I cannot emulate your example.

Still, he never counted on falling for Monica, a friend of Henri's brother Liam and his wife.

Monica had a difficult childhood

Another good read by Sherry Gloag that will not leave you wondering. The story of Prince Henri and Monica is intriguing and will keep you on your toes. I had no trouble following the story and I liked how it had flashbacks to help figure out why and what happened. A very good fast paced read that will keep your attention until the very end. It can be a stand alone, but if you want to read From Now Until Forever you would want to read this a

RECEIVED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

The story of Henri and Monica is a very cute story. The King and Queen decided they wanted to have Henri find his one true love like his brother Liam did. So they send Henri on a sabbatical and he decides to go to his Brother Liam's farm for the disabled. This is where he meets Monica a woman that is holding a secret. Henri thinks that strange things start to happen around her. What secret does she hold you will have to read to find out.

Not as fast-paced as its first book, this book manages to hold out on it own. It's almost like a movie story with love and hate taking the precedence. I tend to love the first one more because it had more action. This one's a bit slow for my taste.

The gift bit was a surprise and I think it will play an important role in the next books in the series.

This book kind of dragged on for me, personally.

This modern day romance features Prince Henri Gasquet and Monica Latimer. Monica has a gift of seeing the future that can make many people uncomfortable and has kept her from finding true love. Henri is swamped with running a country and doesn’t want love to get in his way. When they are both thrown together, sparks fly, but they both seem determined to fight their feelings because of their fears.

This book was okay. I had a hard time getting into it. I guess it's just not my sort of book but I think people who love this genre will really dig these characters. I personally struggled through the story in order to read it.
