Die fünfzehnjährige Taz wird von einer Pflegefamilie zur anderen geschoben. Schließlich kommt sie zu der Reitlehrerin Paula und ihrem Mann Thom. Aber auch hier gibt es Probleme. Als Paulas Freundin Hilfe auf ihrer Pferdeinsel braucht, schickt Paula Taz hin, da sie selbst nicht kann. Taz fühlt sich wieder abgeschoben, aber wider Erwarten gefällt es ihr doch ganz gut auf der Insel.
Besonders Maverick, der große schwarze Hengst hat es ihr angetan. Doch er und Celtic Gold, der Leithengst der Inselherde, liefern sich immer wieder erbitterte Kämpfe.
Während einer Sonnenfinsternis kommt es zum alles entscheidenden Kampf zwischen den Hengsten.
Wer wird gewinnen? Und was hat der Kampf der beiden keltischen Priester vor ein paar Jahrhunderten damit zu tun?

About the author

I've always loved animals, especially horses and I had my first short story published in a UK pony magazine at the age of 14. Since then, 40 books for children and teenagers, plus hundreds of short stories (including award winners), comic strips, poems and articles have been published internationally.

I'm a supporter of animal charities, and donate all my author royalties from my e-books of the Matty Horse and Pony Adventures to Redwings Horse Sanctuary. I donate author royalties from my e-book Coming Home, an emotional story of the journey of two Norwegian Forest cats, to Cats Protection.
