Jane Austen in Love was subtitled by the author as an "entertainment", and it was certainly that. Elsa Solender charmingly gleans details of Jane Austen's known history, lines from her letters and descriptions from her novels to create a portrait of Jane Austen as she falls in love. Solendar meticulously creates a believable voice for Jane's beloved sister Cassandra, as she tells us about this one great love and fills in details of other young men in Jane's life.
