The story is well summarised in the book description, and to take it further would be to give away the whole plot.
Suufice to say that it moves along at a brisk pace and that the action is very sexy indeed. The points of view, and the feelings and emotions of both of the main characters are represented in great, horny detail.
Near the beginning of the book, I thought that there might be a littering of inaccuracies which could irritate me. Half of my heritage is of the Highlands, so a simple slip such as saying that Ben Nevis is "one of" the highest summits, when it is actually THE tallest mountain in the British Isles, made me think Oh no! But I was wrong. The geography and clan history was fairly accurate, and not irritating or distracting at all.
With all of the sexy action, and the interactions between the characters, going on, there was no time to dwell on the background!
This is a great little piece of erotica, and I shall certainly look out for Eliza Knight in the future.
"Highland Steam" is the first book in the "Touchstone" series by Eliza Knight. I normally wouldn't read a historical or a time travel book, and then when I found out that this book was both, I wasn't sure. I am definitely glad that I gave it a read. Eliza did a great job with this novella. I liked the scene when Briana was at "Inverlochy" and saw Drostan. I can't wait to read "Highland Brawn," the next book in the series.
Fast pace time travel , Briana travels back in time and see a man on a rock and she thinks it a dream from eating berries after lost in the highlands. With a little magic in stones she finally finds home and a family. Good gast paced
While it was a steamy time traveling tale, I felt it was too short for the story to make much sense. It has so much potential though. Or maybe I just didn’t realize these are supposed to be short.
Reviewed by Nichelle, Book provided by Ellora’s Cave, and Review originally posted at Romancing the Book. I was absolutely happy with this short story. Right from the beginning I knew it was a quickie as that’s what the cover says. I feel the author tidied up the story and made sure to flesh out the characters right along with the story so that it didn’t feel rushed. The sex scenes in the story are hot, the characters falling in love is believable. Briana feels alone and without family. Drostan is ready to give Briana the family that she has lost. The fact that this is a time travel makes for some fun in the beginning when the heroine and the hero first meet. Which to me made this story quite fun and believable. I loved this story and will definitely be looking for this author again. There is a sequel and I plan to read it! Great job Eliza Knight!
You have me hurked. I do not know when I have enjoyed a book or books so much. They are so full of love and magic. I just can not stop, and on to the next one. Thank you again. Ada G.
I love the time traveling back to the highlands it is my favorite I kinda wish I could do that to see it all before my eyes but with this book you can see it if you can imagine it
I read this short, very hot book sitting in the x-ray waiting room for my hubby. It was full of fantasy, time travel and sex. What more could a girl ask for in a Short story!
