A trilogy of emotional and sexy Texas romances from USAToday bestselling Texas romance author Jean Brashear, the TEXAS HEROES: The Gallaghers of Morning Star series is rich with emotion, ripe with secrets, scandals and sexual tension.
Dalton Wheeler vanished from Morning Star, Texas nearly forty years ago under suspicion of murder, leaving behind him a trail of secrets, scandal and lives torn apart in the wake of his reported death. The woman he loved married another, and life went on. Now the main characters in this tragedy are all gone, and in the wake of the final man's last will and testament, the past has roared back with a vengeance. Secrets will be revealed and the lives of four people will be shattered as they learn that who they are and where they come from is not at all what they always believed.
TEXAS SECRETS Up-and-coming chef Maddie Collins finds out that her father's life was a lie when she is bequeathed a family homeplace she never knew existed—by the husband of the only woman her father ever loved. A former SEAL, sexy cowboy Boone Gallagher arrives back in Texas to discover that the father who drove him away has struck one last blow. The only place he's ever thought of as home now belongs to a woman who doesn't want it, and he must keep her there for thirty days—or it will be lost to them both.
TEXAS LONELY Mitch Gallagher is a loner, down to the bone. Banished at sixteen from everything and everyone he held dear, he's an intensely private man whose rusty, unused heart long ago gave up on love. Fragile Perrie Matheson is on the run to protect her beloved son. Too ill to travel further with a winter storm on the way, she has no choice but to gamble her child's safety on a man who wants only to be left alone. But during days spent together in the mountain cabin, Mitch and Perrie each find surprises in store...and all the reasons they should stay apart battle with the yearnings of hearts too long denied love.
TEXAS BAD BOY Everyone thinks Lacey DeMille is the next thing to royalty, a society girl with beauty, brains and money—but sexy Texas bad boy Devlin Marlowe knows better. Twenty years after being exiled in disgrace for daring to want her, the boy from the wrong side of the tracks has sweet revenge in his grasp...for only he knows that her whole life is built on a lie.
And revenge may be more costly than either of them can imagine.

Books in the Texas Heroes series: TEXAS SECRETS TEXAS LONELY TEXAS BAD BOY TEXAS REFUGE TEXAS STAR TEXAS DANGER TEXAS ROOTS TEXAS WILD
A letter to Rod Stewart resulting in a Cinderella birthday for her daughter sowed the seeds of New York Times and USAToday bestselling author Jean Brashear's writing career. A lifelong avid reader, at the age of forty-five with no experience and no training, she decided to see if she could write a book. It was a wild leap that turned her whole life upside down, but she would tell you that though she's never been more terrified, she's never felt more exhilarated or more alive. She's an ardent proponent of not putting off your dreams until that elusive 'someday'—take that leap now.
Over fifty published novels later, the five-time RITA finalist and RTBookReviews Career Achievement Award winner has accumulated a whole passel of war stories to swap and loves nothing better than talking writing and books with readers and fellow writers.
And she'd still take that leap, war wounds and all.
Texas Secrets Review This book is very predictable, but I was okay with that. In my opinion there was nothing riveting about the story. My biggest complaint is the amount of repetition, that got annoying. I kind of liked Boone and Maddie even with their whoa as me attitudes. I did like how Maddie stood up to Boone. I liked Boone's protective side. I liked the story and was entertained I even got a little teary eyed at the end.
Texas Lonely Review I liked this book a little better than Texas Secrets. In my opinion this one was a little edgier than Texas Secrets. There is still a lot of repetition in this book, like Texas Secrets. Jean Brashear kept me wondering if Simon would show up. I liked Perrie and her love for Davey. Perrie was fragile in some ways, yet she was willing to do her part. She was definitely strong than she looked. Davey was my favorite he was willing to learn. I liked Texas Lonely and was entertained, I even got a little teary eyed at the end.
Texas Bad Boy Review This was my favorite of The Gallaghers of Morning Star Series, I always love a second chance romance. Devlin starts out for revenge, then falls hard. I loved how he pushed Lacey's buttons. It was fun watching his journey and growth. Lacey is pampered and struggles to be perfect for her parents. I really enjoyed her journey and growth. When Devlin and Lacey are together I was amused. I loved Devlin pushing Lacey and how she fought to break out of her shell. I appreciated Devlin and his love for Lacey and what he was willing to do so she could move on from her past. Yes most of this story is predictable but I was okay with it, I still enjoyed it. The ending did bring tears to my eyes at the end.
Fab Box Set Texas Secrets 5* - Maddie and Boone have both been through the mill but Maddie still manages to be a creature of light and warmth, can she thaw Boone, choose a new career path and claim the house that is her birthright? Texas Lonely 4* - Two people who regret past decisions and an adorable five year old boy make up this delightful story about survival and facing your fears. Texas Bad Boy 5* - Torn apart when young, both feeling betrayed by the other, neither expected when they meet some nineteen years later for those old feelings to still be there. However, her parents are still trying to run her life and Dev has a secret which, once told, will explode her world. I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book gifted by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Loved this series. Although introduced in another book, I was keen to read their stories. I got these stories in a boxed set. Boone and Maddies was a hoot, this gal is like a whirlwind. Their story just so awesome, love, promises and commitment. A great read. Mitch and Perrier’s story was equally enjoyable. Bot burned from love but willing to take the gamble again, along with an adorable little boy. Loved it. Lacey and Dev’s story was a teenage tragedy of mis communications and lies. But so enjoyed how they come full circle. Narration was awesome too.
The Gallaghers have had rough go at life, but they are finally finding love and happiness. Before they get their happily ever after, their family's secrets must be brought to light and the wrongs of the past must be righted. There many tears shed on the way and a lot of pain, but life has a way of working out.
I fell in love with you character as it were revealed their inner most secrets and their determination. The plot was simple but had so many twist to it I just couldn't put it down and spend my spend my whole morning reading it. Great characters and a great plot I enjoyed it I feel you will too
Jean Brashear has a way of showing you how people can transform. In each story, people were isolated and believed they could ever be part of others. As they discovered they deserved to love and be loved each person’s story evolves. As they learn, I discivered truths about people and what they can overcome.
This three bookset is emotional and heartbreaking. It had me in tears for the pain of the 2 Gallagher brothers and also for their ladies. Add Lacey and Dev to the mix and you have the makings of a real tearjerker. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I loved this boxed set. Jean brashear brings her characters to life. You laugh out loud and cry as well. I spent all day reading and couldn’t put this boxed set down til I finished, can’t wait to meet the rest of the cousins in the series.
Three very beautiful stories of love, mystery, more love, and some tears. I enjoyed all of it. Life is not always so neatly packaged away in a box. That is why I enjoyed this.
I just read this box set called, The Gallagher on Morning Star, an unbelievably Awesome read. I literally fell in love with all the characters in this amazing box set. This is my first time reading this Autho, but I’m excited to read more of her.
This is the first book I have read that made me shed tears. Happy tears and it was wonderful. A great addition to this Texas series and one I won't forget.
A great family to get to know. This series has the sweetest romance, with just the right amount of heat. You can't go wrong with Boone, the soldier/cowboy, or with Mitch, the loner, outdoorsman. They both are strong, independent men with stubborn hearts. Maddie and Perrie are the perfect women for them. They know just the way to break their walls down. Dev and Lacey's story is so full of heartbreak and misunderstanding, it broke my heart. I loved how life brought them back together, but continued to make them work for their HEA. I really enjoyed this trilogy, and I have every intention of reading more from this author.
Bought this trilogy when it was .99 on Amazon due to another author's recommendation. I probably would give the first story a 5 star; I really got into the emotion between those characters and almost as much in the 3rd story. The middle one, which mostly took place outside of Texas, didn't catch me quite as much but still an enjoyable romance. Will likely try to read some of her other Texas stories.
I enjoyed all 3 of these stories. They're a little sentimental and their character rough edges don't get shown as strongly as the struggles and pain, but each of the people who populate these books are strong and interesting in their own right. I read, with interest, as each couple struggled to come together and find what they wanted most.
I've read and liked a number of Jean Brashear's books and these 3 are among my favorites.
This was a really good book set! It was so good meeting Maddie, Boone, Mitch, Perrie, Davey, Dev and Lacey. There was a lot of action, adventure and romance packed into all three of the books.
I only read the first book on my Nook because it was free. I couldn't find just the first book anywhere else so I guess I'll have it here. I was looking for a cowboy romance and this was exactly what I wanted. I recommend it.
alwAys like to read a series. keeps you interested. characters were awesome. like that all characters follow thru all books. can't wait to read the next books. did not want to put it ....down.
I really enjoyed each of these stories. Jean Brashear holds your attention and makes you want more! I highly recommend this trio of books. The characters were easy to relate to and very likeable. The story moved on at a good pace and drew me in.
Truly enjoyed this series. Family series are the best in my opinion. 4 siblings 2 brothers who grew up together and the 2 sisters they never knew and never knew each other meet and become a family. It is a great series and I look forward to the rest of the series.
I love boxed sets, especially when its the continuing story. All are stand alone books. They are about bringing families back together when they didn't know they were missing parts. Brothers come home and an unknown sister is found.
Over-all 3.5 I liked all 3 books, but I have the same issue with each story. I do not like how the author rushed the endings. The books are "solved" in the Epilogue. I so enjoy a good Epilogue, but I do not want the story line to boil down to the Epilogue.
