It is possible to get the life you really want. You just need the right approach. Over the last 30 years as an entrepreneur James Caan has learnt what it takes to build a successful business, and the same strategy for success can be used to build successful lives. Here, he provides his strategy.
James Caan CBE (born Nazim Khan; 28 December 1960) is a British-Pakistani entrepreneur and television personality. Born in Lahore, Pakistan, Caan's family emigrated to the United Kingdom when he was two years old.
He is best known as a former investor on the BBC television programme Dragons' Den, in which he was one of the Dragons from 2007 to 2010. More recently, he has hosted The Business Class on CNBC, a series which sees him joined by experts from a cross-section of industries to analyse and advise innovative UK small and medium enterprises. He is also Chairman of the UK Government's Start Up Loans Scheme.
This is the first book by James Cann that I read. After helping several small offices to start their run or improve their works, I have to start something for myself. This is about helping myself to establish rather than others drawing my energy to establish their businesses.
This books posted to me a lot of reminders and how to move on. Entrepreneurship is always difficult. Some of the stories shared in the book said so. Having faith and consistency in fighting the right direction are essential......
'Get the Life You Really Want' is my foremost read book in 2023. There are very occasional books that can hold my attention till the end. This book is certainly one of them. This quick-read book will aid to sweeten all aspects of life commencing from health, career, connections, entrepreneurship, and business. Being a south Asian myself I could commune to James Caan's anecdotes easily. I admired the self-rewarding idea the most. 2023 is all about improving my relationship with myself. This book has been a great aid in the process. Although this book is indisputably worth reading from time to time.

Brief and too boastful for my liking. There isn't space in a piece this size to be discussing buying a Rolls Royce at length. Plus all of the author's business seem to be in recruitment, which is a great big bleh.
Was looking for some inspiration when I bought this book several years ago, didn't inspire me when I first read it then and nor after reading it again now, disappointed
I didn't like this quick read book. I felt it contained no interesting or useful information in fact the things he writes about how to prepare yourself for an interview are the same basic things you get told at school. Correct dress, hair, firm handshake etc. I expected it to be focused on business and the 10 point plan to be new knowledge (it isn't).
Very short book; part biography, mostly self-help guide. nothing here to shock the reader "Wow, why haven't I thought of that"? But that is the point, little suggestions that in themselves might not make a difference but taken together may make some difference. A character in A Killing in the Hills by Julia Keller was given the personality trait of repeating phrases from his self-help gurus. I don't think he'll be quoting from James Caan's book but equally it doesn't harm any of us to reflect now and again. The advice given is simple to apply what I feel we may lack is the motivation. Can I encourage you to read this "Quick Read" - Our potential to change makes people interesting and one never knows what will be the catalyst in that process. Reading by itself however is a good and noble thing so if it starts you on that path then no book is to be dismissed.
I use to be a huge fan of Dragons Den when James was on it, his behaviour reflected something unique and I was correct. This book reflects a mini biography on his life stories with tips on how to aim for a positive business/life.
I knew nothing about James and this quick read is what I needed, however some advice maybe known to you though a good encouraging read for those who want something simple, to the point.
Some parts made me question his current life.
I hope to read more from the quick read series from the library!
I got the quick reads version of this book - thank goodness. I don't watch Dragon's Den, so don't know the author. As many other reviewers have noted, there is nothing new or inspiring in this book, which is a pity.
I enjoyed this book as I found it an interesting read to help me with positive thinking to help me with my job searching. I found what he also said about exercise true and would recommend this book to anyone who needs to change how they think.
This book contained some inspiration and interesting anecdotes. The advice is simple common sence. It made me want to read his other books to get to some more in depth information and advice.
