About the author

David D. Carroll grew up in Colorado in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona. His short story, Grenya’s Revenge, was published in The Furly Edition in 2005. He has been writing for the past three decades and minored in English in college, focused on writing fiction. He is a Test Engineer working on space programs with experience in technical writing. Writing has always been his first passion and he intends to pursue it as a career.

The short story grew out of a concept for three characters. Each of them existed separately in my mind before I wrote this piece, and all I did was put them in the same forest. This is a beauty and the beast love story. The real question is, who is the beauty, and who is the beast?
